    Default WARNING! Fake debt collectors.

I can't say I'm surprised by this but this is just a warning for the folks out there.

    per the article
Some of the signs that you're dealing with a fake collection agent include getting calls before 8 a.m. or after 9 a.m.... Debt collectors aren't allowed to do that; it's against the law.

so they can only legally call for an hour?

    Heh, wouldn't that be nice...
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.

Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

This is why I never send any sort of payment (CC, check, etc.) over the phone. I take down their info, check with MY records and if things don't add up right I call them back and request proof.

This is insane. As if people don't have enough to worry about, some stupid mean people are deciding to try to collect on it.

Does anyone else appreciate the irony that one of the main sources for the article is Buzzard?
