    Default Your "Fix-It-All" Remedy

Dad was a farmer with very little cash, but an inventive mind. Machinery would break down, and inevitably he always tried to fix it with duct tape and baling wire. It was his "fix-it-all" remedy.

Mom used this philosophy in a different direction. Her do-it-all solution to meals was sandwiches. In a hurry in the morning? Breakfast sandwiches (and this was before fast food thought of such a thing). School and work lunches: Sandwiches. Company coming for supper? Fancy sandwiches.

I apply this philosophy to feeling ill: soak in a tub of hot water. Cramps? Hot tub. Achy muscles? Hot tub. Upset tummy? Headache? Just out-of-sorts whiny? Hot tub.

Hubby has his own spin on how to treat all the above symptoms: take a nap. Can't you just see us now? Feel a headache coming on? I'm in a hot tub, Hubby is asleep, Mom is fixing her sandwich, and Dad will whip out the duct tape.

Do you have this "one-fits-all" philosophy, too?
    Spiritual:
"You are fearfully and wonderfully made." Please... respect life.

    Financial:
Debt free, hoping to stay that way!

    Absolutely.

f it doesn't move, and it should, use WD40.
If it moves and it shouldn't, use duct (duck) tape.

I'm in the duct tape and WD40 group. Add some coffee and it will be complete.

THERE ya go, Mrs. McD! Give me vodka or give me death. LOL!

    For me---

Cheapie windex----I am like the father in "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". You know how he goes around and puts windex on everything?? I use el-cheapo window cleaner for everything. Cuts grease in the kitchen. Makes things shine. Good for quick cleanup when the MIL is stopping by. Haven't tried it on zits and mosquito bites yet.

Neosporin---on kids, dogs, me, dh, --a cure all.

Crazy glue---the world is full of plastic crap and I need crazy glue to fix it. I keep a drawer full of it.

Caulk and wood-filler materials. I have 'borrowed' this stuff (from dh's stash) to use on so many cracks and crevices.

Me~ a hug, something with probably too many calories but makes you smile, vinegar...
Hubby~He amazes me how he fixes things with recyclables. Need a new hinge for the cooler? Plastic from the Nestle Quick container will work perfectly. Heat gun, screws, he's something the way he thinks outside the box. Fan of wd40, duck tape, rope...
