Holding my breath for the next 2 months
As I posted earlier, we bought a newer car last month with cash! The only problem is that it completely wiped out our savings acct. We still have our EF but nothing else. I'm starting to panic. If Murphy decides to pay us a visit we will be in trouble. If we can make it to October 1 without problems then we are good. DH gets his extra check on the 1st and I will start earning again in Oct. I am a school bus driver and will get my first paycheck Sept. 30th.
Until then, we are having to live extremely frugally. That's hard when the kids are still on Summer vacation and everything they want to do costs money.
Next Summer I am getting a job. I didn't work this Summer because I needed some time off. Next year I WILL WORK!!!
I guess I just needed to share my worries with you all. I can't really talk to dh about it because then he gets upset and feels bad. It was his newer car!!!
Thanks for lending me your ear! You guys ROCK!

We just bought a "new" car with cash and wiped out our savings too. I know how you feel. Trying not to panic over it. We spent the last two weekends being good and staying home so as not to spend money. Going to be a lot more of those in our future.

We also recently bought a new cash car. Our ef is smaller than I would like at the moment due to you name it happening once we bought the car to the tune of 2k in 2 weeks!!!!
However we have 1 last hurrah before we are getting really tight on the budget. Our kids will be gone for 5 days and we will be having fun in our own state with a budget of $500.
WE had really thought about putting the $500 back into the ef but we have not had a kid free opportunity like this in more years than I can count and we may not again for A few more years. So we decided we are not cancelling our plans. AS long as we have ef and seperate cash to pay for the trip we are going. I felt a bit irresponsible for about 5 minutes and thought heck no!~July 19 saving goal for event $104/$1000

Way to go on paying cash for cars all of you!
It is worth it to have a tight budget for a little while, and not have that debt!
