So the "STEALING"begins!!!! (Long Post)
I'm so upset right now! I planted (or should say my Dh did) a Dwarf Peach tree this past April and it had around 9 beautiful peaches on it that I was gonna pick in a few day's as they were getting to the perfect big/ripe stage..anyay I look at my fruit trees plus berry bushes everyday to see how they are coming along..Well this afternoone ( I worked 7 to 3 shift..got home @ 3:30) I pull in my driveway and the first thing I noticed was all my peaches were gone...so I thought maybe my youngest fella picked them even though I knew he wouldn't because he knew that I would kick his butt..he know's how I feel about my peach tree..I wanted to be the first person to pick my treasured/precious fruit & personally give each one of my family members a treat that I grew in my own yard..Anyhow no one picked them..No no animals ate them either..there is absolutely no evidence left behind! I can't believe someone would have the nerve to walk on my lawn (btw our lawn consist of 2 full acrea's) granted my Peach tree is about 50 ft from the road but still... Outside of someone stealing my peaches this is disturbing/scary to me we have a 2 car garage(it's 3/4 the size of my house) that has lot's of valuable high ticket items that a thief would love to steal if they had enough nerve to walk 50 ft onto my lawn they would have enough nerve to walk another 50 ft to my Garage.. even though it's locked up it does have 3 full size windows in it that someone could easily break..not to mention my house or my Greenhouse (my greenhouse has some valuable stuff in it also) that is in the middle of my lawn...Im going to invest into some high quality sensor/motion lights..I think I''m also going to put lights not sure what they are called shining up into my various trees we have all over my lawn..as well as lights shining into the woods behind my house..that way the whole lawn is pretty much lit up..I might sound like I'm getting carried away..but I'm going to keep my family as well as our belongings safe..I forgot to mention that a friend up the road had all flowers stolen as well as a very expensive weather vain...it might sound minor but little things stolen lead to bigger items stolen down the road!

Thanks...My Dad also said to call the police..I cant prove that someone stole them so I feel kinda of foolish wasting our tax $$$ on something that is so minor..It just means something to me not other people..I am worried that my Dh will be looking out our window's with his M4 Rifle (he is a Marine & a Marksman so he believes in defending his own.) ready to take care of our problem..I've kind of molded him by repeating myself about how our crime rate will be rising as people become more & more desperate..We are pretty isolated from any neighbors so we could easily become a easy target..Wife to Keith

I'm sorry that is so upsetting. I'd tack a note to the tree saying it is private property. Maybe that will deter some people. Thieves suck!

At hubbys business we have a set up with 4 cameras...any one can be zoomed in. They COULD be hooked up to a TV and watched at home....the set up wasn't like outrageous but not cheap either...maybe a couple thousand. It will also record. Alot cheaper than what a business would charge like Central Security and no monthly charge. Not only could you, with 4 cameras, watch your tree but your front and back yards/doors and the woods or road...and if you have smaller kids you could keep an eye on them if you're in the same room as the monitor....just an idea.

Put up a huge sign stating that 'this is private property and owners assume no liability for anything that happens to trespassers' OR a sign that says 'You are being recorded' Hopefully the signage is enough to deter whomever.
I agree with making a police report - its not just you who got robbed. Are you able to make this peach tree LESS visible from the street?2012: The Year Of The Purge!

We had a neighbor pull her car up to my elderly neighbors pear tree. She stood on the roof of the car and picked every last pear.
It was the first crop of pears the tree produced and the old man just wanted his grandkids to have a chance to pick some........
I think the neighbor made pear preserves - I know the old man didn't get any......Truck paid off 12/07(paid in full)

you dont always have to call the police to your home to make a report - you can stop by and fill the paperwork out around here .
i was getting perverted phone calls a few years back- i knew it was from the guy who got evicted next door because they came from a phone near a train at same time he had to take the train ( talk about dumb AND perverted ) and he was just the type to do that .
i was at home alone with the youngest being a baby and even though i wasnt scared ..scared... i was a little freaked out plus if i let the answering machine get it he still said stuff on that .
anyway dh made a report of some type just to be safe - neighbor across street is a detective and he said best to even if you cant prove who it is so its documented in case something else happens like property defacement etc .*~Debbi~*

THAT is why our fruit trees were planted in our back yard. Over the years I have seen people take pecans and fruit from other peoples front yards.

I am so sorry that happened to you. I have planted fruit trees & blackberries in our backyard & I am afraid of someone jumping the privacy fence & stealing our food. We have no gates, but still....that doesn't stop people from taking what is not theirs

It's too bad someone helped themselves to something that didn't belong to them. Have you spoken to your neighbors? Even if they didn't see anything or fess up you'll put them on notice that you are going to be keeping a better eye on things & hope they will too.
