What's on your mind today?
Here's what's on my mind today.
DH surprised me yesterday by taking me to our (only) local steakhouse for dinner. Of course we used the coupon that they have in the Penny Saver-type paper that is put out every week.
I had made tuna for sandwiches for dinner. The fried prawns I ate was, of course, much better.
Summer semester for college ended last week. I took two classes and one of my profs posted grades by Tuesday afternoon. Of course I got an A.
My other prof has not posted grades yet. It's been a week now. I'm impatient. I'm pretty sure I got an A in this class too but I NEED to see it. Ugh.
I need Murphy to find somewhere else to live. The last 6 months its been: huge dental bills for both of us, DH hand surgery, I just put $400 that I don't really have into my car only to find out it needs more work. BUT - I think I can get my car fixed at the college this fall for a fraction of the price - I'll know more in September. It's driveable until then.
I'm ready for the fall semester to start now. But it doesn't start until the 23rd.
So, What's on your mind today??“When you get to the end of all the light you know
and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
you will be given something solid to stand on,
or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller
“Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
there are signs that the world is speedily
coming to an end;
bribery and corruption are common; children no
longer obey their parents;
every man wants to write a book and the
end of the world is evidently approaching.”

courage to change the things I can,

I've just been in the zone lately. I've never in my life felt like I more clearly know 1) What I want and 2) How to get it. No mental clutter, no sidetracking.
Lots of planning and scheming on my mind.

I am just wondering when the 5 steroid injections I had today in my neck will kick in

Trying to think positive and hoping that I can get through the list of things I want to do this weekend.
I am not too good at sitting around doing nothing, I like to be doing things and I need to get making some "main meals" to fill my freeezer.
We just ate the last of my delish ( Vegan) cheese and onion pie, wonderful and tasty homemade "junk food"

Funny I just went grocery shopping and ran into one of my classmates who works at the grocery store. He's wondering about what grade he got too. He said he emailed the prof with no response. Guess we're stuck waiting.

Oh thinking about where to take the kids for the weekend before they have to get ready to go to school and they have to go back on their school schedule (no more staying up too late lol). Thinking about taking them to the amusement park. Should be fun times for them

Oh what's on my mind. Well lets see. I am tied up with trying to figure out what is wrong with my truck and I just found out that it is my fuel pump which is not exactly cheap to buy so I am getting one off of EBAY for a lot cheaper and its still going to cost me 182$ to get the old one taken out and new one put in. Frustration at a high right now.

Put me down as another person thinkin' about their car. It failed emissions, so I took it into a shop yesterday and they did $911 in repairs (not all emissions-related, but stuff that needed to be done). Anyway, I'd stressed that passing emissions was my #1 priority. They assured me that they'd run the test 3 times and couldn't get my car to fail. So, I took it to emissions after I picked it up, and it failed! Sigh.
I can't take it back in until Monday b/c of my work schedule. Even then, they have no idea why it didn't pass, so I'm not sure what they can do.
Also, I am meeting my new supervisor at work today for the first time. I'm sure it will be fine, but it's a little nerve-wracking.
I work all weekend (39 hrs over Friday, Saturday and Sunday), so I am just hoping it goes quickly!

~You don't want to know what's on my mind today. I'm on the verge of seriously considering changing the locks so Doofy Head can't get in. I'm highly hormonal these days and it's like he's trying to upset me.

-Bills!
-Car stuck in the driveway with no money to fix
-What to make for supper
-Wondering why there's no good deals in this weeks grocery flyer?
-Worrying if we did the right thing for DS2 when he didn't budget properly while away on conference. He thought he had one less day there then he does, so his money would not cover his food. He thought he was fine till I pointed it out to him what day it was.
It's an LD thing, you can't treat LD kids the same, you have to help them learn better ways to handle their LD (like time management-which is what this is) Letting him face the consequences of this error because of LD would be downright cruel, and would not make the LD issue better...However....*sigh*

What's wrong with his hand? My DH just had hand surgery ~2 weeks ago for trigger finger (chronic tendon inflammation from overuse). His doc said, we can do nothing and see if it heals, do shots, or do surgery. He picked surgery for the sure-fire cure. He just got the stitches out yesterday and is happy to be able to play the guitar again. Just a little until his hand heals some more.

Today, I was thinking about it being the 65th anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima. Our local peace group held a symbolic gathering just so the occasion would not be forgotten. It wasn't all serious - we learned to make origami cranes.
