Mama's Update!
Hola, my lovely Village neighbors! Hope all has been going well with you folks. I miss you all terribly and look forward to getting back amongst you. I spend a lot of time breastfeeding and sitting so I have been floating around with the lurkers a bit, but haven't posted a lot. It's not that easy to do so on an iPhone.
Here's what's going on with us, for those who are interested:
LG (little girl) is 11 weeks old today (how the heck did that happen?!) and has gained 5+ pounds and has grown 4+ inches.
We have moved out of our beautiful 1 bedroom 3rd floor apartment to a much more kid-friendly, respectable 3 bedroom apartment a bit farther away from our downtown community. It's bigger, but ironically better priced. We were paying $1100/month for our one bedroom with no laundry access. We now pay $1195/month for our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom, laundry room and dishwasher apartment. We are a little farther away from all our favorites, but we are closer to a CostCo and the biggest and best library in the city. So really, this apartment will save us money in the end.
The Cavalier is still holding out strong, but DH says it's gonna need to be replaced in the not too distant future. I don't want him driving around in an unease car, so we will have to see what we do.
Aaaaaaaand... We are right back to where we started, debt-wise. Between the move, the baby, and a massive screw-up with my unemployment at the beginning, we are pretty much right where we were when we started. But now that I'm home, I believe we can do more to save money and keep out home good an healthy.
So I will be floating around in the background for a bit, but hope to poke my nose in every now and then.If you're interested in frugal living, minimalism and and

HI, and thanks for popping in to fill us in!
That's a rice cereal sandwich LG is eating---right?
Have they made good on the unemployment screw-up?______

It's good to hear from you. I have been lurking this summer too. With the kids home all summer I just don't have much "me" time. But it's worth it.
Isn't it funny how your outlook changes with a baby in the family.....? I went from a career woman in Washington D.C. to a stay at home mom in the mountains of southwest Virginia in the space of 6 months. We ate ALOT of rice and beans that first year but it has been totally worth it.
Good luck and enjoy the new apt. and that wonderful library!!!!Truck paid off 12/07(paid in full)
