marinating kitty
Man accused of marinating cat: 'I'm not crazy'
I'm speechless.
According to a police report, officers in the process of ticketing Korkuc discovered the cat, which "appeared to be marinating in crushed red pepper, chili powder, salt and oil" inside his car.
"From what we understand from Buffalo police the person who owned this kitty was marinating him in order to cook him," said Gina Browning, spokeswoman for the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Erie County.

and now we all know just what spices to marinate a cat in. I learn so much on FV every single day!
Thanks,
P.S. seriously they should so return the favor to this guy. Just make him set in a big ol' vat of it for a few days and see what it feels like. Could you imagine the poor kitty cleaning itself and getting the hot pepper in its mouth?

Such a waste...
He should have dry aged the cat before marinating. If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Several years ago I was taking EMT classes/training. One of the girls in the class worked for a foreign doctor and his wife..also a doctor. She worked alot at their house transcribing etc. One day they left her there for whatever reason. She heard meowing and followed the noise to the backyard. Hung up on a clothesline were dead skinned cats and in the yard bunches and bunches of cats and kittens ( breeding??? ) tied up and in cages. They ate them often. Admittedly. She quit

But people keep chickens and rabbits for meat, which is the same scenario, though not culturally acceptable in the US. I don't get how people can be so upset about that treatment of one type of animal, yet eat others that have been treated similarly or worse.
What disturbs me about the story in the OP is that the poor kitty was still alive and no doubt trying to clean himself in in the process getting a mouth full of hot pepper.

Maybe an MMPI should be administered to would-be pet adopters to prevent this sort of thing from happening in the future. One wonders if the response would have been the same though if it was a live chicken or even a rat instead of a cat.
Also, keep in mind that in NY cats do not need to be licensed as dogs do. There are also no restrictions regarding hunting cats*; legally cats may be harvested as game at any time as an open season.
*As of about 10 years when I was current on NY hunting regulations - truth has a timestamp.
