    Talking MAYBE I need to change my ways....

    I am the first to say it...I don't "like" anyone until I believe I have a reason to! That said...heres my heart warming story and a lesson to me...
    About 6 weeks ago a new lady started school with us. She has been a manicurist for 23 yrs and owns her own salon where she has other girls that do hair. She has decided to get her cosmetology license so that she can run her shop as an apprenticeship shop for foster kids she has from time to time. With that said...I was thinking thats so nice BUT my witchy ways got in the way and I just saw her as a "know it all" and she just drove me crazy!! She had already started an apprenticeship to get her license so she "knows" everything we have done. Well a few weeks went by and we started to chatting a lil more and a lil more. Within the last few weeks its been me and her partnered for all procedures and we talk all the time...one of the other girls even said"you guys are like a team" well my dryer broke oevr a month ago so I've been washing @ home and drying at the laundramat...her washer broke a month ago so almost daily we discuss these "tragedys" with kids. One of her nail clients gave her a washer and dryer set on Sunday....she called me and offered me the dryer since God had blessed her she wanted to share her blessing. Not only did she give it to me....she delievered it yesterday before school!! She lives an hr away. All she wants in return is to see my smile! Just when things seem so bad.....something happens that makes things a lil brighter!
    With that said....maybe I should give people a chance THEN if they prove otherwise....not be friends! I am feeling blesses today and wanted to share!

    BTW~ it looks like almost brand new....looked at label think its maybe 5 yrs old! Frigidaire/Electrolux gas dryer with ALL the bells and whistles!

    Awww, that was sweet of her! And good for you to get some self-awareness in a positive light. Sounds like you are doing well in your classes, I'm happy for you

    I have a friend like that. Didn't like him until I started talking to him under a different circumstance and saw him in a new light. I just love him now!
    “When you get to the end of all the light you know
    and it's time to step into the darkness of the unknown,
    faith is knowing that one of two things will happen:
    you will be given something solid to stand on,
    or you will be taught how to fly.” - Edward Teller

    “Our Earth is degenerate in these later days;
    there are signs that the world is speedily
    coming to an end;
    bribery and corruption are common; children no
    longer obey their parents;
    every man wants to write a book and the
    end of the world is evidently approaching.”
    — From a translation of an inscription on
    an Assyrian clay tablet, circa 2800 B.C.E.

    God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
    courage to change the things I can,
    and the wisdom to know the difference

    It's not always easy to take a look at ourselves and admit we need to do better. Bravo to you for not only seeing it but being gutsy enough to pass it on here so others may rethink some of their ways too.

    thats so nice !!!
    i usually assume the best of someone no matter even what gossip i have heard until they prove to me otherwise.

    i have found that many people cant handle a truly nice person so try to bring them down by gossip .

    So you got a new to you dryer and found a friend to boot! So very happy for you. Sounds like others saw it before you did. Maybe a "best" friend...wouldn't that be great!

    Very mature of you to admit it. I can be suspicious of others and judge negetively before I should.Was raised like that but you gotta fight it. I try and think of people as flawed,incl. myself. You know-imperfectly perfect.
    It was very nice of her. Tell she inspired you to do something nice in a note. And pay it forward.
