Holmes on Holmes...Whose Fans???
Me!!! Love the show and couldn't wait for the new season to start. Watch the reruns most every night.
Watched a special on him one day. There's a woman hired to just tell him NO!. He also puts alot of his own money into certain peoples homes. The one show with the lady in a wheelchair he put $50,000 of his own money.
I also really liked the Katrina week.
Who else likes the show?Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.

My husband and I watch it when we stumble across it! My husband is a jack of all trades, master of none and we find it "amusing" how some people do the most idiotic things when remodling or whatever, but we do feel horrible for the people whose homes were affected! Holmes is such a nice guy!

We watch it most evenings. My hubby is a Master Carpenter, and he always comments on the difference in building codes between here and in Canada. Also things like the orange membrane they put down in bathrooms in Canada, here it's a greenish blue.
And we also make fun of the "oot" sound when they say "out". LOL. I know. We're being bad. LOL

you know what kills me though?
Mike is always harping about getting the inspections and yet some of the things he has to replace have been inspected!
The one the comes to mind is the dormer he ripped off the top of a building. The roof was inspected, yet done wrong.
The other thing is doing your homework and getting the right contractor. That guarantees nothing IMO.Russ

Love the show - it's been very helpful for me in doing my own renovations.
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

I like watching the show, but it's depressing knowing that nobody will ever come do a free major makeover on all the crap that needs fixed on this house.

Both me and hubby loves this show, hubby says he wishes he could just know one tenth of what holmes knows. He would love to redo our home and he watches to see how Mikes does things so he can use those things later on our house. I am still waiting on hubby to finish my kitchen. Remodel started 8 years ago got my new stove and new cabinets while I was 8 and a half months pregnant, after all got put in I had the baby and ...... Yep anyone else out there have a hubby who does these things starts and then stops.
He will finish one day when he gets the urge. We had to get the stove the one I had was already dead. Oven had quit months before and the burners was all but done in. With a new baby on the way it was do or move. Me I just want to get my the floor finished and the crown molding up the molding around the floor and paint. I would be a very happy woman.

I really like watching his shows. I stopped watching when I changed my cable to basic. Probably a good thing since I am in an apartment and would argue with the maintenance people when they tried to get out of actually working. In the back of my mind I would hear him saying things like this is a crap*y job. It needs to be fixed!
