I'm BAAAACK!!!
Hello everyone...it's been a while, but winter FLEW by (and yes I LOVE the quiet of Michigan winters) and then spring came in with a vengance and I've been outside ever since. I HAVE been busy taking some homesteading classes. Began getting raw milk last fall and have been enjoying making butter and ice cream. Took a knitting class and sewing class (so MANY of you girls rock and it's been YEARS since I did either and was VERY intimidated, but I was the fastest learner...probably should have taken a more advanced class in both... in both classes and have started a hat for myself and am cutting up thrifted hand woven wool mens suit jackets to quilt a blanket for my son. Took a gardening class this spring...just came in from the garden with a treasure trove of tomatoes, peppers and green beans. Took a dairy class this summer and learnt how to make creme fraiche, yoghurt and vanilla extract. Tomorrow looking forward to the drying and fermentation class and will end with the food preservation class next month. Hope all is well with everyone and hope to visit more often.

Welcome back you busy bee! Where have you been taking all of these classes? I live in Florida where might I look to see what might be available in my area. The sewing and crafty things I can find no problem. The other classes are what I am interested in.

Wow! I'm totally impressed and jealous. You're so lucky. I'm with Jas, I'd love to learn to do those things. You should start a thread or blog. I'm sure everyone would die to read it. Anyway, welcome back!

The farm where I get the raw milk offers them. I've seen MANY farms in our area offer them so you may try what you have. Good luck.
