Here we go again
Lexi needs lots of prayers and good throughts. She spent the last 4 days in the hospital because of seizures. They released her to go home today. With one of the seizures she asperated her vomit. So now she has phumonia. Well momma called me crying the insurance won't cover the antibiotic she needs. Mom is falling apart right now. She is to far away for me to help her. Pray that she gets the antibiotic she needs, and she quits having seizures. Shes only 4.

I will pray...
I am so sorry that they are going through this...I cannot imagine the insurance will not cover the antibiotics...so sad....I am thinking walmart has a generic brand..
It's very frustrating as a parent to watch your kids have to go through so much and it becomes almost unbearable when you cannot help them....

Try a local church or call the harship office in her town.. We have one that helps when all other options are out the window.

I'm not sure of the whole story, but I'm guessing that Lexi is your grand-daughter?
Well, what I wanted to say was yes, please tell her mom to find out the name of the antibiotic manufacturer. Sometimes, the drug companies offer help right now to those who can't afford their meds. Did she talk to anyone (dr. or druggist), about an alternative? It's a terrible thing for a child to go thru something like this. I hope her mom finds a solution and gets the help she needs. You and your family sure has had more than it's plate-ful, Fern! I hope things get better soon. Kids do have a way of bouncing back fast. Keep us up-dated. We'll all be thinking about you and your family right now!

Sending prayers and hugs to Lexi and her entire family. How frustrating to have to deal with insurance problems when you're so focused on your child. Please keep us updated.

Because of Lexis disabilitys I got the number for CaChildern Services. They are helping her get what she needs. Its a brandnew antibiotic. My granddaughter is Lexi's big sister. I don't have problems with the momma. I have always been there for her. Paula lived in foster care since she was 2 so she doesn't know who her real mother is. I just don't understand how insurance companys can say they know whay is best and to deny a child meds or an adults is beyond me. I think they need to rethink how they handle thing

sending prayers, hugs and well wishes Lexi's way. If you still need help getting the medications, try calling the hospital where she was released from. Sometimes they have resources unbeknowst to the public and can direct you in the right direction of where to go.
