    Default TV or no TV??

Do you have a Television in your bedroom?
A year ago we moved a TV into our room when we bought a new one for the family room. Yesterday I unplugged it and decided to add it to the yard sale pile.
    1. I think Dh and I stopped talking in the evening when we moved that tv into the bedroom.
    2. I think I have a problem. I don't sit and watch it during the day but it is always on. Twice today when I walked into our room I tried to turn the TV on, LOL! It's just back ground noise but why do I need it on so badly?

    No more TV for me

We have one in the bedroom. I see no problem with it currently, that doesn't mean in the future I won't move it if it does become a problem. Same with the one in DD's room.

we i use it with 5 kids in the house ages 22 down to 9 its sometimes the one i use to watch my shows esp if its a shows i dont want the kids watching ( i am very strict in that - i know my 13 yo has friends that love shows like grays anatomy and desperate housewives but i dont think they are appropriate for her age ) my dh will watch EWTN in the bedroom when its a topic i dont think is appropriate for in front of kids .

the family room one has the wii on it for family games and netflix thru wii - and has more channels on it - so its used for movies sports etc .

i watch the news in my bedroom while doing my hair in the AM .

my dh goes to bed an hour before i do most nights as i stay up with the older kids - so if i am watching it at later at night he is already asleep .

i cant sleep with it on i turn it off .

We don't have a t.v. in our room. I usually have the t.v. on for background noise though. I can't stand it when my house is quiet.

We have a TV set in the living room only. We don't watch it because there's no reception and no cable here. We use it just for watching movies.

We briefly (like for half a second) thought about getting satellite TV, but realized that there is nothing on TV that is worth the expense. Any time I am in a hotel and have a TV to watch, I notice that I can spend an hour flipping channels and not find a single program that I want to watch.

We don't miss it at all.

I have a tv in my bedroom and its not a problem when DF visits. It doesn't usually get turned on. At his house....if I want to talk, I ask to turn it off or turn it off myself and state I want QT. We usually have it on at bedtime while we're waiting for the other to get ready and join the bed.

We do have a tv in our bedroom. It has cable. Love to fall alseep to the science or history channel. Children's shows are good to fall asleep to also.

Only time it is back ground noise is if we fall asleep to it but that generally isn't on purpose and we turn it off if we wake up.

We have a tv in the bedroom. Only recently though. During the day I don't turn it on until noon for the news. It stays on for the noise I guess. I am usually on the computer. Dh and I might watch a little tv at night then when he goes to bed it gets shut off. Even if I am in the middle of watching something. I either leave and finish the show in the livingroom or just go to bed myself.

On the weekends the tv is off until around 6-7 pm. There are only a few shows I watch anyway and I can record them and watch them when I am ready.

ds has a tv in his room, dd does not.

The older male houseapes have one in their room that they use for video games (no cable/dvd -nothing else hooked up to it). In the livingroom, we have a tv that is strictly used for video games & dvds of our choice. If dh wants to watch "Lie to Me", he watches it on his laptop...otherwise, we don't watch tv - haven't for years and are quite happy with the arrangement We get our news through radio & the internet.

I have one in my bedroom that I watch when I am winding down to go to sleep.

BF has one in his BR and his apartment. When he moved in there wasn't enough plugs and he needed a power strip. He still hasn't bothered plugging it in and he has been that almost 2 years.

I sometimes turn the one in my living room on during the day but its just for background noise or to make me feel not so alone.

We don't have a tv in the master bedroom, and it's not wired for cable or internet.

We do have a tv in Diva's room, but it is rarely on. It has a dvd/vcr player for movies. That room is wired for cable and internet.

We have a tv in the livingroom but we do not have cable. Local channels only. At first we went through withdrawls. Other than the morning news everything else we can find online. Technically we could watch the news online, but it doesn't always stream the same stuff.

    Ditto! I wouldn't have any TV if I didn't have a 5 year old.

I have a small one next to the bed. I like watching and relaxing to it at night and being able to turn it on in the morning to catch the news.

I also used to have a tv on all the time for background noise. Finally stopped doing that and realized I could concentrate better with the tv off. I also felt less stressed out.
