What would you tell your 15 year old self
if you could go back in time? I like listening to talk radio and a guest host brought up this question that provoked thought in me & I figured you all had some wisdom to impart also.
I'd tell myself to try lots of different things, not worrying about how I looked or how I did, just to have the experience. Trying all those different things might spark an interest I didn't think about.
I'd also tell myself to start saving money for an emergency fund & retirement as early as I can. Peace of mind money wise is a gift that keeps on giving.

I would tell myself that adults were also people and not to be thought of as completely different entities.
That though the teenage angst that the teens are really a carefree time in your life. That you should experience as much as possible.

I would make myself get involved in school and report that
bully that tortured me for years. Report her, stay in public display of others instead of hiding and then having her find me, thereby not having witnesses, oh my stars I cannot even list all the things I'd tell myself.
But! I have passed along this support to my daughters and they've had a better high school life than I did.
I feel really good about that.

I would tell myself what a diff. a year makes. That you are not ugly and should cut your long hair. That 16 will be a blast.
Also just to have more confidence and to go away to school.

There are so many things that I would tell my 15 yr old self.lol.....like "stay away from the guy that would become your first love....he'll only break your heart.....and haunt it for 30 yrs & die of cancer at age 49"...I'd also tell my 15yr old self..."there is so much more to life than what you are seeing right now.....anything worth having is worth fighting for(emotionally/spiritually)...if you want it badly enough, you will work hard to make it happen
...I am so thankful that I took the advice of a wonderful friend when I was a very headstrong ,17 yr old young lady

Stop being so lazy and put some real effort into your school work. Just because you skim by without studying and doing your homework 10 minutes before class starts, doesn't mean you should. Stop worrying about how pretty all the other girls are, you are just as beautiful as any one of them. Be nicer to your little sister. Stop drinking so much Mt. Dew.

I don't have 26 years to write down everything I'd tell my dumb ass self from back then.
Instead of dwelling on the past that cannot be changed, I spend my time beating up today's young people in an effort to get them to not end up like me. I'm really mean to them, then I say, "if you make the stupid mistakes like I did, you'll end up just as mean when you're my age!"
I think it's working...
If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

When we were all 15 our parents tried to tell us what they wish they could tell their 15 yr old self. So if I could go back in time I'd tell myself to listen to my parents.

At 15 I was going to HS and working Full Time. I think I would tell myself to stop working so much, make Mom actually pick up the bills like she is supposed to and enjoy my childhood more. Go to football games and senior beach week.
Just because someone said they love you, doesn’t mean they actually meant it and if they did mean it, there is no guarantee that they will forever.
No matter what he says a married man will never leave his wife for you.
If you have to pay for the first 3 dates, you are going to have to pay for the rest of them.
Spend more time with your loved ones, they won’t be around forever.
Enjoy your life more and things less.
Girls are people too.

I would tell myself the same thing I tell my teenagers - Have more FUN!!!
I absolutely loved being a teenager. I had a blast in high school, by far the best times in my life! I loved being young, carefree and just living for the moment. Not everything was perfect, but other than losing a boyfriend to drunk driver at 14, nothing terrible happened. I would not change any of it. I am who I am today because of where I came from. To be perfectly honest, I am pretty darn happy with who I am and where I am in life.
I tell my teens to live it up, savor every moment and take advantage of every opportunity offered to them. These are the best times of their lives and I hope they are filled with awesome memories and lifelong friendships.DD (19)

Hmmm...this was only roughly 8 years ago.
I would have told myself to be nicer to my little sister.
I would have told myself that high school means very little after you're finished with it.
I guess if I would have known my first boyfriend would end up killing himself using meth, I would have told myself to stay far far away. That's something I would have rather left out of my life.
