Default am new to the site

I found this so am going to answer these questions as I was stumped on what to put!

How did you hear about frugal village? google search

What interests you here? everything! I just found the main forums page and - wow I am going to be lost for a WHILE!!!

What will you contribute? probably a lot of little things, a lot of the stuff I just know from growing up and staying with grandparents and grt grandparents, but dont realize its not common knowledge until someone says something.

Do you know any other members here? nope, not a clue, tho I hope to find other like minded individuals and make some friends who understand that this (this being "frugal") is a way of life, and circumstance, we dont have money - never have and probably never will, but I dont feel we are "poor" or deprived.

How many kids? Ages? I have two "natural" ages 22 y/o(m) and 17 y/o(f), and two "foster" ages 22 y/o(m) and 21 y/o(f) - always all will be "my" children. In my head they are not seperated like above, but for clarification.

Tell us about yourself. married, 40 yrs old but an old soul, have health issues that put me in a wheelchair more often that I care to, do not work (except cleaning the American Legion's meeting hall) but volunteer a lot, American Legion, Soldiers Angels, Girl Scouts. When I did work my jobs have entailed: insurance rep, management, sous chef (favorite), locksmith (favorite).

Do you own any pets? too many

Occupation? stay at home wife and mom

    Married or single? married

Interests and hobbies? many. model building for trains, crochet, knit, embroidery, cross-stitch, sewing, cooking, camping, survival skills, reading, scary movies, many things

want to learn spinning, welding, canning, small engine repair

    Forgot to add:

House (singlewide trailer), land (1 acre), two cars, truck and van (wheelchair accessable) all paid for within 12 years on one income on average of $12 an hour. no credit cards. only "debt" is electric bill, water bill, insurance, internet and cell phones. of course food and gas too.

Thank you all for the Welcomes!

I have been posting all over the place... sort of. when I'm not lost!

Finally figured out what all the "Flylady" stuff was about - joined! I have hoarding issues!!!! Still trying to figure out Challenges and Topic of the Week... I'll get there eventually

This is truly a helpful site and how I wish I had found it 20 years ago! Perhaps I can be forgiven a little bit siince internet was just starting. Books (Tightwad Gazette - almost Bible!) are great, but nothing like being able to ask questions and, miracle, get answers. Useful ones at that - woohoo!!!

Again - thank you to everyone for the welcomes and am so grateful for this site.

PERSONAL GOAL Quit Smoking!!!!! avg was 40 per day - woot at 10 a day! Tried 4 a day and it did NOT work out!
