I did Brownies for one year, but no one wanted to be troop leader, so it fizzled quickly. My sister did Brownies and then Girl Scouts after that.

I was in Brownies until 3rd grade - too much fun!! Those campouts were the best! I still have my uniform with sash, badges, etc. My oldest dd is in Brownies now and loving it.

Everybody all together now - "On my honor, I promise to......."

Me too!! I was a brownie, Junior, Cadet and Senior scout, I was in scouting until 10th grade!!
My dd has also been in Girl Scouts since Kindergarten and is in 10th grade this year. She plans to continue with scouts through high school!!!! She has earned her Silver Award and is working on the Gold Award now.

Good for her mom2knk! The Silver and Gold awards are big deals! I was a Brownie and now I'm the leader for my Dd troop/group. I really enjoy doing it and look foreward to next year when I will have a smaller troop. This year we had 18 which is WAY too big. Next year I'm going to limit it to 8-10. Sadly, alot of parents won't take on being a leader and that is why we have had to have such big troops. Wewill be doing our annual camping trip in July.

No I wasn't in either, don't know why, I don't really remember anyone in our area taking it. I started taking 4-H when I was 12 and took piano lessons from age 8 to 14.

Brownies and Girl Guides here as well. THe only thing I didn't enjoy was practicing the marching for the parades! LOL

My dd started sparks at 4, and now she just completed her first year of Brownies. I was one of the leaders, and help out with my son's Beaver group as well!

mom2knk.....congratulations to your dd on her Silver Award. That is some accomplishment. Let us know when she attains the Gold Award!

You must have a wonderful, strong committed group in your area, for your dd to be able to accomplish so much. It takes wonderful children, and committed adults to lead to such successess! Congratulations to all!!!

I went through Girl Scouts up through the cadet level, was in Rainbow girls for a brief stint, and did 4-H for a year. My kids all did boys scouts for about 2 years and then stopped due to things not being well organized in their troop.

I have something in my pocket that belongs across my face
I keep it very close at hand in a most convenient place
I'm sure you couldn't guess it if you guessed a long, long while
So, I'll take it out and put it on

For some reason, I don't know, I could not be in Brownies or Girlscouts... I asked to join many times, but my mom never made me join. I don't know if it's becuase she spoke no english and was too shy to take me, but I always felt bad not joining. Many of my friends were in brownies and girlscouts...

Sounds like it was so much fun!

I was a Brownie, Girlscouth and a cadet. I had no hope of being a popular girl (my kids tell me my grade school pictures remind them of Gretchen from the Recess cartoon) so being considered an uber dork for being a scout didn't hurt much.

I wasn't in Brownies or Girl Scouts, but in a church group that was similar called "GMG" for "Girls Missionary Guild", it was much fun!! We had uniforms that had light blue A-Line skirt with a sash that badges that were earned were sewn.

My Dsis and cousins and lots of friends we also members. My Dmom was the art leader.

    Lots of good memories...

I was a Brownie and then a girl scout until the end of 8th grade. My best friend and I were the only Junior Cadets at that point and there was nowhere else for us to go, so we were sort of forced to quit for lack of troops. We LOVED it, though. I'm hoping dd wants to get involved, but if not, that's okay too.

I was in Brownies from first to third grade. I wanted sooo bad to go on to Juniors, but no one would take the troop. My mom was my Brownie troop leader and had breast cancer the whole time. I was so mad that the other moms wouldn't take over when she couldn't do it anymore. They "didn't have time".

I am going to help/lead my daughters troop if she wants to join when she is older. I am also going to be active helping in ds's Tiger cub scout troop this fall.

I was in girl scouts but all I can remember doing was goig hiking in boots that were way to small hurting my feet and making christmas ornaments. I must not have learned a whole lot. I think Im going to have my daughter be in it just so I can get lots of GS Cookies.
