    Default DSi bundle for Christmas!

Please allow me a moment of excitement to jump up and down like a kid again!

It arrived today, and I am going to give it to one of my children for Christmas.

I couldn't post about it earlier because the kiddos were on the computer, plus I didn't want them reading this over my shoulder.

I have been saving all of the points from Mypoints and turned them into Amazon.com gift certificates. And then I converted all of my Swagbucks points (for searching, etc), that I have been saving all winter and summer into Amazon gift cards, also.

Right now Amazon is offering a dsi bundle (includes a game) for $149.00, and when I added up all my gift cards, I had enough to get it!

It arrived today, and I just ordered it yesterday afternoon. It was only offered in the color white, but I figured I didn't care what color it was. My son has been begging for one, so I think he'll just be happy with it.

To be honest, I have bought a few things through Mypoints, but only 2 or 3 times times. The rest of the points were earned just clicking emails or doing surveys. I figured I may as get the points for buying the same thing I would get at Walmart, and make my money work double time!

This was so painless that I almost feel like I stole it! The down side is that I am starting all points from scratch, so it will be a long time before I see any results. It sure was fun, though.

I am going to buy 2 more, that way all 3 kids have one. But...I had a rummage sale 2 weeks ago and will use that money to pay for one unit and half of the third. I consider that "found" money.
So that means that 3 dsi' will cost us out of dh's paycheck only around $75.00 total!!!! I may be rushing things, but I wanted to take advantage of the great price, plus I have free shipping. So it's now or never.

The main Christmas presents are now sorted out nice and early (and frugally). What a great feeling!

do you happen to have a 5 and below store near you ?? if so they sell DS and DSi cases and skins etc that would cost under 5$ that would let you personalize them in different colors etc.

lol Libby~my husband loathes video games, so he won't be getting one. I could see how that would work out, though.

AmyBoz~Thank you! I'm still in shock.

Momto5RN~I have never heard of that store before, but I will keep my out out for skins. Either that or they can just put a sticker on, but it would be nice to keep the white dsi's clean. And good for you for getting a few gifts with gift certificates! It sure helps the budget, doesn't it?!

What I bought for mine was a rubber/silicone casing that goes around the whole unit not just the top. Its saved my DS numerous times due to small falls, bumps & bruises along the way

    Its kinda like this:

Excellent! That is perfect! I will get some of those and call it good.

Thank you-I don't play video games myself, so I need all these tips.

I agree with you about mypoints - if you're going to buy something you might as well get rewarded.
Congratulations on creating such a good deal for Christmas-
you're kids will believe they won the lottery on Christmas morning- it's probably hard for you to wait right now.

Ha ha, Darlene, I am worried about that too, so I will buy some new Christmas wrapping paper at Dollar Tree tomorrow and wrap them up. That way if one of the kids finds them the surprise won't be ruined.

The other two arrived yesterday. Gee, they all look so small for being such expensive items!

porembam~yes, it is hard to wait. They are starting to drop hints for Christmas, and I always ask them if they forgot I didn't have a money tree growing in the back yard. That puts them off for a bit.

We usually make sure they get want they want for Christmas, but I don't want them to EXPECT it.
