Default Back into searching for people

If any needs help with genealogy or anything please let me know. I was really excited i was able to get back to 1700 and my last name was spelled way different then it is now. Coming for the south most people wrote it the way it sounded.

I'm also back on ancestry.com - let it lapse for a couple of months - was busy with house projects...but I'm still looking to see how far back I can go!

I am also working on looking for ancestors. I am stumped with finding information on my biological dad. The problem is that he was not born long enough ago (I guess) so information is not out there. I found information on a great or great, great grandfather with the same name. My main problem is that his relatives (that I know of) do not want to give me any information. One day I may break through and the information will just drop onto my lap.

I love genealogy! I started my family tree a few months ago. I am planning on join ancestor.com once we get a little extra money. The road block I personal hit is on my husbands side. His father's name is not listed on his birth cert. and he never meet him that he can remember(he was in his life until he was around two) All we know about him is his name and the time frame is was with my husband mother. We do not know if he is alive or dead? or his age? My husband mother passed away in 1997 and the rest of his family is no help.

I love genealogy, it is something that I do almost every day. It does get a bit trickier when you get further back and outside of the US and cannot travel to those locations to look actually be able to look through resources.
