putting together a new budget with the new job
I am about to sit down with my budget and new pay periods for Dhs job and rewrite our budget......OY! I really like doing it though. I am going to be able to include some overtime and I officially can take out two massive insurance payments we were making before his job started. Love group insurance!!!!!
BTW, Did yall know Christmas is almost here!?!

Congratulations on your dh's new job and the opportunity to make a new budget! We did this about a year ago when my dh got a new job with benefits. We'd been buying private health insurance for the past 15 years. I must say it is nice to have group insurance, especially dental (we've never had it before).
When enjoying our cut in insurance costs, we got the urge to look into our other payments to cut even more costs. It became addictive to see just how much we could cut. Pretty soon we had cut out cable tv, refinanced our house at a lower rate, cut the phone service extras, and got new life insurance at a lower rate. Higher pay and lower expenses, win win! He's now up for a big raise soon, time for a new budget to go with it (and I don't mean increasing expenses).

Re-doing the budget is fun...when it's for good news! lol. I read your other posts, congrats to your DH's new job, with OVERTIME. That's awesome
I've had to re-do our budget so may times in the last 2 years. Between being in our first apartment saving for our move, then moving in with my parents for 9 months leading up to the move, getting our first FL apartment, then moving to the 2nd FL apartment....all the while BF going from being employed, to unemployed when we moved, back to being employed and starting to get raises at his current job. The budget has been really all over the place the last few years! lol.
