Way to go. . . sometimes those "desperation" dinners are the best!

My dad did something similar a loooong time ago, that I STILL remember. I was about 5 at the time and we were living in a motel that was ran by a really nice Polish family (OMG the wife made the BEST food) while our house was being built. It was some sort of meatballs, with a rice-like noodle and probably some canned vegetables in a broth. He doesn't have a clue what he made, and says he couldn't recreate it if he wanted to because he just threw a bunch of what we had together, while my mom had to stay late at work one night. It's funny what you remember as a kid, though. Whatever it was, it was good.

We called that Hunter's stew or casserole because you hunted though the fridge to find all the bits you could and tossed them together.
