Doing happy dance!
Last week I had two awesome things happen to me. First of all, I've been wanting to get a security system installed in my house. Benefits are obvious but it would also mean some savings with home owners insurance. So I called, made an appointment for a saturday (oct 2nd) for them to come out. Well that day, I had to call to rebook it as I was going out of town that day, the company said it was no problem b/c the guy was sick and couldn't come out that day. Booked it for the following saturday.....So i'm waiting, nobody shows up. I'm getting fed up, they are the most popular and reputable alarm businesses here....so i call them to find out exactly what time they were coming out...dude is sick again have to rebook
...this time the owner says they will install the alarm system free of charge! So last tuesday, they show up and installed it for free. I just saved $200 and got a free alarm system!!
The monthly fee will be $25 but i'm sure happy the system was free in the end. Sometimes stating your concern in a polite but friendly manner works out better for you with better results; as opposed to freaking out on someone or being rude - even if you feel its justified. Did they have to give me a free alarm, nope but they went above and beyond and little things like that make a difference.
MAJOR AWESOME news #2!!
I bought a cup of coffee on my way home after work (yes, very unfrugal of me but it does get better lol) from Robin's Donuts. They have one of those roll up the rim type of contents going on. I enjoy my coffee and roll up the rim and........I won one of their ten major prizes (an all inclusive trip for 2 ppl - airfare, hotel, meals, drinks are all paid for.)!!!! It's a week long trip and i can choose from any of the barcelo hotels & resorts in either mexico, cuba or the dominican republic
I have to use the trip before april 2011 and have decided to take one of my adult children on the trip. I'm really excited
I've only travelled to the usa and western canada, so I'm pretty stoked about this trip
I plan on packing light and bringing home gifts etc. I'd love to see the pyramids down south but havent made up my mind yet which place we'll be going to.
I better get back to work, hope eveyone is doing well

Wow congrats!! Had to rethink if we had Robin's Donuts here in Canada and we do, just not in the city.
Relax with your cup of java and surf the web of all the Barcelo resorts you can choose from

Congratulations! Have a wonderful vacation. Find out what you can take on the plane..last new one to me was no liquid etc over 3 oz. ( shampoo, toothpastes etc. NO hair gel whatsoever.
Bank of America is THE godfather of Hell with Wells Fargo running neck and neck. When the world ends the only things that will be left are cockroaches, Walmart, Wells Fargo and Bank of America. Not necessarily in that order. The order remains to be seen.
