    Talking No tricks- just a HUGE treat!!!!!

    Some of you know I am a pediatric home care nurse, caring for complicated, ventilator-dependent children.
    Last night, I was sitting in the driveway, handing out Hallowe'en goodies to the kids, when a two year old "bumble bee" comes toddling up. I had to look at her for a minute but sure enough - it was one of my former baby-patients!!! She is off the vent, off of oxygen, walking and talking!!! Woo-hoo! What a TREAT!

    Wow....that had to be a really heartfelt moment. It has got to be fantastic to see them 'up and around'.......how lucky you were to get to see her!

    I haven't seen her for about six months. I always 'pop' my mouth for my kids - they think it's funny - and she was very leery of me until I 'popped', then I got a smile!
