Default Its that time of year again....

chapped lips. The cold does a number on me along with some of the meds I have to take. My lips get so dry chapped and sore. I keep stuff for them but it seems to happen so fast.

On top of that the cold makes my joints her.

    Yep I'm whining. LOL

I used to get really bad chapped lips til i started to use Carmex. My lips would get very chapped during summer and winter. Sometimes i'd bite at them and they'd peel. I buy the little container with the screw top lid (instead of the sticks or squeezy tubes). I make sure to always put it on with clean fingers. I can literally put it on once in the morning and not have to reapply except after eating.

I like using burts bees lip balm. I also use neosporin on my lips or on my face if they are wind burn from the cold in winter. I wash my face and apply a very thin application to the area (checks) that are red. The next morning my face is normal again. I like putting neosporin on my lips before I go to bed. They always end up nice and full when I wake up. I used to always have really cracked and peeling lips in the winter.

I also buy the generic version of neosporin which works just as well. I haven't tried udderly smooth on my face but it works well on my hands and feet and less smelly than bag balm.

Blistex is what I use always summer and winter. I keep it beside my bed and use it everynight before I go to bed. I also use the marykay lip balm nearly everyday. I use clinique make-up but love the lip balm from marykay. I very rarely get chapped lips.

I too love the carmex & didn't think I'd like the applicator at first, now I think it's genius. Glides on nice & smooth.

I tried the neosporin since my lips had gotten so bad and it worked like a charm. By morning they were feeling so much better. Thanks danafairy.

When my lips are chapped and burning, Blistex (the kind in the squeezy tube only) is the only thing that helps. Waxy lip thingies are worthless for me.

I think no matter what you use, the key is starting to put it on, ALL the time, as soon as it begins to get cool out.

First thing in the morning, several times a day, and at bedtime.

I currently use Rosebud Salve. I bought it (along with some other things) at Sephora using a gift card I had received. I LOVE it but once it's gone I'll likely switch back to good ol' petroleum jelly which I use on my lips, feet, knees, elbows and on my hands (mix a little bit in with whatever cheapie moisturizer).
I want to kill my mortgage! 192,391/197,370 (since July 2011)

I'm attempting to live by the principles of The Compact in 2012. Wish me luck!

    2012 Financial goals
    • make an extra $15k over and above any flying pay (1705/15000)
    • pay an extra $1750 off my mortgage (557/1750)
    • bring EF back to $10k - $3533 left to save
    • avoid lifestyle inflation
    • improve investment plan (change accounts) - *grumble grumble* Bank made a mistake, need to re-do paperwork

    The Financial Goals I've achieved:
increased RSP contribution to $300/mth, posted budget on FV for review, saved $1600 to go on vacation
