Default Thinking of opening an ETSY online store...

I've been contemplating opening an online store on etsy.com. I would like your opinions on whether or not you think my images would be marketable and sell. I don't want to jump into anything I am not ready for, so please be honest with your thoughts. I am posting a link to an online album so they can be viewed: http://2009californiatrip1.shutterfly.com/605

    Thank you,
    Andrea

Have you done any research? In other words... what else is out there simliar to yours?? How do you stack up against the competition?

    Your photos are beautiful.

those photos are beautiful!!! I agree with Russ about looking into whether there are any others out there with photos like yours. I have an Etsy store and have had to change a few things about what I put in it because of how many of my things others have and the ones I made just didn't sell. Good luck with what you decide to do.

I had a not stellar experience with Etsy. It's sooo hard to get noticed. If you are offering something very unique, you'll have more luck. I make children's clothing, and um..so does everyone else.

Expect to have to promote yourself a lot!

    Good luck!

I think your images would definitely be worth buying, have you looked into other options besides etsy though?

Thanks everybody! There were a lot of photographs on etsy, but I didn't see any others that had scriptures attached to them, so that could be my niche. I have sold a few locally, mostly to friends in my church, thinking about trying to expand. You all have given me some ideas to mull over.

Just remember it will take time. Etsy has carved out a niche for handmade items so that will help.

You MIGHT consider listing a few items on Bonanza also. Listing is free there.

Oh and get busy! It is the holiday shopping season.

    Good Luck!
