I tell you I should of checked my list twice before going to the store.

I headed back to the store so many times for something I forgot that the store people started to tease me.

I think I have it all. I hope!

    We are having:

    small meat, cheese, cracker tray

    ham
    rolls
    mashed potatoes and gravy
    green bean casserole
    stuffing
    sweet potato casserole
    egg noodles
    cranberry relish
    pasta salad
    water gate salad
    caramel apple dessert.

All I have done so far is to tear up all the bread for the stuffing.

    Tonight I am going to:

prepare the glaze for the ham
    preassemble the green bean casserole
dice up the onions and prepare the broth/seasoning mix for the stuffing
    make the cranberry relish
    make the pasta salad

    Wow, everyone is doing great!!

Sorry that I didn't explain the Turkey Oreos, lol.

I've got the Bacon Cracker out of the oven and the house smells fantastic. The cranberry sauce is cooling and the brine is simmering for the turkey.

Alright alright.....FINE. I'll get up and do something No, but really....this thread inspired me to at least go and get the stuffing ready). I'll take the frozen bread dough out tomorrow morning and bake the bread early tomorrow afternoon, our turkey shouldn't take more than a couple hours since it's so tiny, and I'll sautee' some fresh green beans while making the gravy after the bird comes out of the oven. I'm not making a big deal out of it this year since it's just BF and I.

Everything is sitting on the counter - this way I won't forget.
I remember one year the gravy never made it to the table ( I left it on the stove)
Now I put all the needed serving platters out so I have yet to forget something in a long time.

We are having our Thanksgiving at my mil's...but I make a couple of foods that I've made for years & years now..

Homemade Cold Slaw..(cabbage very finely chopped, mayo, sugar, salt & a little pepper..let sit overnight in fridge..my mom always made this! But only on the holiday's though..

Turnips..cut into small pieces some whole peeled potatoes..cook until tender..drain then mash adding sugar, salt a little pepper and lot's of butter..(again my mom alway's made this every holiday)

I just started making homemade stuffing last year..I actually made my own homemade Amish bread for this today..it should turnout better then store bought I hope anyway!

    Brenda,

I do the same with the stuffing, but made Italian bread and homemade honey wheat. I make mine in the crockpot. It is so good and yours will be hands down better then store bought. Your coleslaw sounds yummy!
