So thankful
Lately things have been kinda tough on the wallet for us. My kids flew the nest in august only to return in mid-november lol Of course I'm happy to have them back home, but it's an adjustment for everyone. Money has been so tight its pathetic, its like constant struggling to figure out where food will come from to feed everyone or only putting in $5 for gas etc....
My bf and I have had alot of tension between us prior to the kids moving back home, I felt b*tchy and resentful towards his spending habits and of course I was the nag who nagged about the responsibilities and bills that needed to get paid. Eventually we hashed everything out and things got better. He's helping out alot more around the house in all ways, not only helping buy groceries and pay other expenses but in other ways too, like helping with renovations and cooking and cleaning. For that I am thankful.
Christmas is just around the corner and we were planning on what to get my sons. He said he'd buy their gifts and already decided what he wanted to get them. We were going to juggle bills, food etc to try to pull it all off. In the meantime, I was expecting 3 cheques
to arrive - 1 is for my mileage ($299), and 1 for approx $500 for an old pension account that I forgot about and since the amount is so tiny, decided to cash that out (I have other pension accts with a decent amount of savings in them) and an inheritance cheque from my stepmom's estate. Well the estate cheque arrived today and in the midst of making payment arrangements with different ultility companies, the timing couldn't have been any better.
My eyes teared up and I got a lump in my throat, we weren't expecting anything until after the new year. I've always been close to my stepmom and it was kinda like she was looking out for us. You know what they say, there are no such things as coincidences. In any event, it arrived at the perfect time, now all my credit cards and bills will be paid off in FULL. I'll only owe my mortage and car. We will have enuf $ for presents and groceries and still be able to put some into savings and of course....i'm going to be adding to my STOCKPILE haha
Now I'll have spending money for that trip for two that I won!!
I'm so thankful and grateful for the blessings I've rec'd in my life, particularly during difficult times. Yesterday we were just saying "wouldn't it be awesome if those cheques all arrived tomorrow!" lol Well two didn't show up today but the biggest one of all sure did!! My jaw hit the floor, I'm so blessed. Thank you Leona, you were a 2nd mom to me, I'll always love you!CC#1: $400/1,000

What a blessing! Sorry you lost her,but glad she's still watching out for you. I totally get it. When my daughter was born, the check from my grandmother's estate arrived the same day as the baby's hospital bill, for nearly the exact amount. My ex wouldn't let me get any assistance, even though we only had 1 paycheck for 4 months at minimum wage, and no paychecks for the other months that year.

Thank you everyone. I've always been thankful for what i do have, however small or little it might be. I'm thankful to have a career that i love, great kids, a roof over my head etc. Sometimes we lose sight of that when we get caught up in the rat race of life. Sometimes we take the little blessings in our lives for granted, like the ability to admire a gorgeous sunrise albeit while pushing your car out of a snowpacked drift.
I'll always miss my Pops and stepmom Leona and would happily give up everything i have to have them back. But that couldn't happen no matter how much I wish for it. My comfort is in knowing that I loved them both as much as my heart could and I know they loved me too. And its a comfort to think that they are watching out for us even though they are gone. This will be the 1st xmas without her and the 2nd xmas without my Pops.
Miracles happen every day all around us, its up to us to notice them
Blessings and love to y'all
