Aww. Your pug is just the sweetest Danni.

My pets have been subjected to all kinds of noise, mostly because I didn't want them to be skiddish and didn't want to tip toe around. I do try to vac when the pets are out since they aren't fans.
As far as taste testing goes, I just found out my cat likes rice chex from chex mix. Only a taste, lol. Dog will eat just about anything.

I spoil my dogs, but I don't go out of my way to turn down the volume of music/TV. It has never seemed to bother them, but maybe I should be more considerate, lol.

The only time its ever been an issue is when a doorbell rings on the TV, and they think its OUR doorbell and go running and barking to answer it.

Funny you ask about the taste testing thing. I'll do that if I have lunch meat, usually ham...for some reason I can't tell as well with ham, that I'm not sure has gone "off" or not. The cats won't eat it if it has.

As far as the music and such, No. They can go to another room LOL. They wake me up out of a dead sleep often enough that I just don't care all that much

I usually do not worry about the sound level with the cat. Although my dog did not seem to like Springsteen when he first started to listen to him.

My cat is not a good guide for taste testing since she will always act interested but when she actually get to taste something it is hit or miss with her. Like bananas. She is always interested but when she is let to taste one she basically goes oh, no I thought it was something else, never mind.

Yes. I don't play rock w/ the dogs in the car. My hearing is going w/ age but theirs is not.
And I also tell my sheperd when I am starting the vaccumn as it terrifies her.
I share my food w/ the pets. They get their own plate on holidays. I wouldn't say they are taste testers though. They eat anything so I skip asking their opinion.

our american bulldog does NOT like loud music AT all....something about the bass just freaks her out. the rottweiler mix could care less but dang if he can't hear a squirrel sneeze at 4am from 8 blocks away.

now interestingly enough, the bulldog WATCHES TV, and i don't mean just sees something move on the screen, nope she sits there and watches....loves muppets and Barney, LOVES animal planet and will watch football for a while (it's the legs we think!). if a dog barks ON the tv, the idiot rottweiler goes racing off to the front door in Def Com 4 alert....the bulldog then chases after HIM, cuz well it's fun.

NO people food for our dogs. nothing off our plates, ever. i made the fatal error of sharing just a bit of some cheese with the rott mix and now you can't hardly even open the cheese drawer without him right there! they do get the occasional carrot bit, or the random floating chip, but that's it. the bulldog who ate the backseat of my CAR has a very delicate digestive tract and if you mix up her food/treats at all, you pay and pay dearly.........

Well, I sing to my furry ones. Suki loved the song Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver. You know the one that goes, almost heaven west virginia blue ridge mountains shenandoah river life is old there older than the trees younger than the mountains blowin' like a breeze

Our Sweetpea loves when I sing Mama's Little baby, remember this one?

    Put on the skillet,
    Slip on the lid,
    Mama's gonna make
    A little short'nin' bread.
    That ain't all
    She's gonna do,
    Mama's gonna make
    A little coffee, too.

    Mama's little baby loves
    Short'nin', short'nin',
    Mama's little baby loves
    Short'nin' bread,
    Mama's little baby loves
    Short'nin', short'nin',
    Mama's little baby loves
    Short'nin' bread.

Our Iggy, never cared much for my singing. LOL!

My parents always share with the dogs and cats. Only a little though. They have certain human foods they love. A cat I had when I was little liked to sneak doritos if you had them in a bowl. And would lick the top of the soda can if there was pepsi on it.

Well I guess I took "taste testing" to mean something entirely different altogether LOL. The cats will eat just about anything, so long as it's not the rotten lunch meat I was talking about earlier... In fact, the older one, KC, was eating curly fries just a few minutes ago.

The only noise that bothers my cat is the vacuum cleaner; so I never vacuum when she's asleep. We found out by accident that she loves cooky crumbs. Now whenever one of us is eating a cooky or muffin, she insists on having a taste.

The cat is living in my house, she'll have to accept when I'm ready to rock out. She wouldn't wake up if a dump truck drove through a nitroglycerin plant.

I'm not a huge fan of very loud music and a blaring TV drives me around the bend, so it's a non issue. lol

Taste testing...Every time I get a piece of sliced cheese out of the fridge, all three dogs come running...they have to have a piece also.
Well, that goes for just about everything...

As far as vacuuming, sheesh, I have to let all three out before I can...they try to eat the vacuum. Seriously, they hate that machine.

Every time I sweep or dust mop, Maxx-my German Shepherd attacks them. It's a war just to try to get it back from him.

    But I love them anyway..

Our cats get peanut butter cookie crumbs or peanut butter no bake crumbs. I also make sure "their" little heater is plugged in when it's cold in the living room. Nah they aren't spoiled.
