    Talking if your neighbours/good friends

I just wanted to ask you all a question: If your neighbours that are really good friends of ours gave us a Christmas gift that maybe cost them $25 dollars is an estimate. Would it be just as sufficient to give them a tin full of home made cookies that I baked especially for them as a gift? We are done our Christmas shopping and don't really have any funds to buy anymore. Please let me know your thoughts.

I think your gift as is, is fine.
Have you priced cookies lately in the store ?
The ones from the bakery area. I just shake my head.

yes, Bake!! The things that you bake are likely to be SO MUCH BETTER than store-bought and very likely to be items that aren't available in their typical grocery store. I always hold home-cooked above purchased items. It takes specific time and effort to produce it.

I got the kids in the family each a $12-15.00 gift for Christmas. (that was a small fortune to me) The adults, except for my mil, are getting cakes and cookies, etc. which I also have made specially for them. (which is expensive in itself)

My 2 sisters-in-law have started giving us gifts for Christmas which we previously agreed that we would NOT do. I feel like I should do more, but NO I will not. I am going to "hold my guns" and not give in to purchasing items. Just can't do it. (just won't do it)

One of my friends is making me a bracelet. When she brought the bracelets to work to show us I asked how much they were because I was interested in buying one. She said she would make me one for christmas. Didn't want to say to much but I made chochlate (sp) covered peanuts, chocholate (sp) coconuts and banana bread. Just didn't have the money to get her a gift and I know she likes homemade sweets.

If I were your neighbors, I would love a homemade from the heart just for me gift over a store bought gift any day. Bake the cookies and watch them smile.

I think that is a lovely present . I'm buying presents for my parents, my SO's mum and anyone on either side who is under 18. My siblings, however, are all getting baked goods that are tailored to their tastes...well hopefully.

Baking something for your neighbour friends is thoughtful as it shows you have taken time out of your schedule to make something that will make them smile. They way I see it, your time is just as valuable a gift to offer others as something of significant monetary cost (plus, frankly, ingredients aren't necessarily cheap!).

Homemade foods are an excellent choice, barring any allergies. I'm guessing you would know of any allergies since you say they are really good friends.

Its a beautiful/thoughtful gift There are many times that people have more $ than time (wish it was me lol) and they really wouldnt necessarily cook those type of things for themselves so they really appreciate the time and effort you put into it. Plus ingredients are getting to be super expensive these days!

Think it would be excellent gift.

I only give homemade goodies and everyone has always loved them.

Lots of people don't take the time....or don't want to bake........but they still like the homemade things. ALWAYS much better than bakery!!
