    Default A special Christmas wish

DH and I were watching the national news last night and they were showing some of the California flood victims. I've been watching this on the news for days now and I feel so sick for these people. Those who chose to stay after refusing to be evacuated I'm not so sure, but those who left only to come back to a house with mud 6ft deep almost brought me to tears. At that moment I could only think just how very much DH and I have. I complain about living in this old run down mobile home because it is cheap and we are trying to save for land and building a home, but I still have a place to call home. I'm laid off but we are doing no worse because God provided DH with a pretty big promotion exactly 1 week before I got laid off. I have mild asthma, but I'm not on medication for high blood pressure, diabetes, depression, I'm not on dialysis, chemo, and I don't need an organ transplant, in other words I'm pretty healthy. We have more food than we have room for. We were unable to give Christmas this year until after I have my surgery because I have to pay the deductible, but our kids are adults and already know they will get something when things are back to normal. They didn't lose all their presents in a mud slide or flood. Our 3 vehicles are sitting outside, all with full tanks of gas and in good shape, they didn't get swept away in a mudslide or flood. We sleep in our own bed, eat at our own table, bathe in our own bathroom, and watch tv on our own 46" tv/dvr with a blue-ray player, all in our own home not in a motel. All in all 2010 has been a good year for us and I wish I could do something to help those who lost so much at this time of the year. Until I come up with something the best I can do is remember them and pray that God will take care of them. I also pray that none of the FV family are in that mess.
Ok I'm done rambling, just thinking out loud I guess.

There is always something to be thankful for. Even when times are hard

Yes I'm out of my mind. It's a dark and scary place in there.
