Although I work for an envelope company, I strongly prefer email and online bill pay. There are a few bills that are mailed because I just can't get them paperless. I also pay them the day I get them, since with online bill pay I can pay them in the future, so as soon as I get one, I just go in and pay it. I don't auto-debit because I've heard more horror stories about not being able to stop it. I do auto debit the car loans, because there was a 1/4% interest rate reduction for auto payments, and I don't forsee ever having to "stop" auto payments. I don't look over everything with a fine tooth comb, most bills are fixed and the CC bills I balance each month so I have to reconcile them.
I actually have one CC that I always have paid by the time the statement gets to my mailbox. If I could figure out how to turn off those statements, I'd love it!Loving wife to DH (8/31/03) and Mommy to Owen Alexander (9/20/06)

I just remembered why I do not pay my verizon bill automatically. I had signed up for it years ago. Apparently at that time the company they hired to do the billing had a really wierd way of billing. So you might get billed twice in one month. The second bill would be for the next month. It was just to strange and unpredictable since you would think your bank account would be deducted the same amount the same day of the month.
Guess I could check into it in case things have changed.

We receive paper bills, I pay all, with exception of 2, bills online. In the quickbook, I've set up reminders when to pay those bills & I pay those bills within a few days after statement closing dates (way before the due dates). By the time the paper bills arrive, I've already made the payments (once a while that will confuse me, but not that much, since I check my bank account at least once a week)
I think I'd like change to receiving e-bills instead, less paper to shred, less clutter. I can save those e-bills in an external hard drive, easier to organize.
