I'm not sure of what even happened to that clock. I have a sneaking suspicion that it found it's way into the trash.

DH uses his iPod as his alarm these days. Now, he is treated to Joan Jett singing I Love Rock and Roll and his wife elbowing him and saying "Will you turn that %$&#%# thing off!"

One of my roommates in college had an alarm clock that was a bucking bronco. That thing was very loud and she had to be up at 3:30 am every morning. It made a yipping and galloping sounds. The worst part of it was that it had to do a whole cycle before it could be turned off. I hated that thing.
I have to be careful with alarm clocks. Mine have to be gentle awake or set on a low volume. The loud buzzing give me a migraine.

To give you an idea on how long I hold on to things.

Does anyone remember The Son of a Gun? My Dad bought me a used one at a yard sale when I was 15, I've had it for 28 years! I still use it, and it works great.

i had one of those, along with my dorothy hamill haircut.

    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

Polly, my grandfather had a clock similar to yours but it blared out a bugle playing revalie. It had no volume control either but it lasted forever. In fact, it was still working when we had to put him into an assisted living facility. I think my aunt threw it out!

Every morning we are jarred from our sleep with the shrill cries of Ba Ba Black sheep. Not singing mind you, it's a musical version unlike any other I ever heard, sharp notes blare out of this child's clock, in just as shocking yellow, red and blue primary colors. There is no way to turn it down, no alternative alarm, like radio settings.

It was a gift for my oldest, by a Grandparent. Our oldest could not bear it any longer and somehow managed to trade our alarm clock for this awful thing.

Being frugal minded, I'm having a hard time with the idea of replacing a perfectly good alarm clock. The worst part is, it performs beautifully. I have no doubt that it will outlive me.

Anyone else out there have an alarm clock that they'd like to take a hammer to? Morning misery loves company ya know.

Or better yet, anyone have a relaxing alarm clock?
I use my cell phone for my alarm clock. I keep it by the bed charging. Do you have a cell phone?

Yes, we have a cell phone. I'm positive DH would nix that idea though, he's funny about those kinds of things.

Thank you for the thought though

Wow you are doing better with it then I would. One morning it would scare me awake and that would be the end of it. I tend to throw my arms around when I get scared, more so when I get scared awake.

I'm sorry but I had to laugh! It sounds like the perfect alarm for me... My DH says that I'd sleep through a tornado. I hope to never have to find that one out.

I have one that screams at you very loud but thats not all. It has a wire you put under the mattress and when the alarm gos off the bed moves. It belonged to my son so I won't get rid of it. I don't use it to wake up to it, I get up on my own.
