    Default ebooks?

my husband got me an ebook..its associated with borders.com

    i love romances. historical mainly
i am averaging 1 book a day...lol and i hate to pay the 7.99 a book some are cheaper but it adds up quickly...i have already gotten the free ones on harlequin..

i wanted to know if anyone know of a reputable membership to get unlimted books? or where i can get good free or lower cost books?

I have a Kindle E reader(Amazon) and Ive gotten quite a few books free. I usually just look on sites like deal seeking mom, she posts when free books become available.

thats one thing I was unsure of, I know that you can download apps to read kindle books for your computer or smart phone, but I was unsure about it converting to another e reader.

I was just talking to my sil about this today - how cool would it be to have a 'library' system for a small monthly fee? So you could share your ebooks with others with the same ereader!

I got a nook for xmas (barnes&noble), so that would be great if I could share with other nookers :giggle:

as for the original question..... have you tried googling for coupon codes?

There are lending boards out there. I know the nest has one. Frugal Girls is always posting free ebooks.

You can try your local library, mine has e-books to download for free! Worth a try!

I second contacting your local library. Mine has an eBook checkout system. You can "check it out" for 21 days. Really neat!!

I use a free application called calibre. It allows you to convert ebook formats & it is great for organizing your ebook library.
Google calibre And also free ebooks those should give you many options.
I am actually typing this from my new cruz reader. I will com back and post the name of my favorite ereader site. I can only view 1 page at a time on this browser. Libraries do offer ebooks depending on the library. Mine offers none: (

Is the place I learned a lot about ebooks, they also have updates on free ebook offerings. Most out of print books can be found for free almost always. I recently downloaded a bunch of Jane Austen & The Anne of Green Gables books.

for nooks the color nook does allow you to lend out your books for 2 weeks at a time .
would love to get a group together with others who have color nooks for book " lending " .

    so cool!

I have a color nook - still learning my way around with it though, it was a christmas gift.

I don't get how you can "borrow" an ebook from the library for 21 days? Do you give it back??

    I was wrong. I don't have a color. I'm just a regular nookie.
