On Dec 12th I had some split pea soup from a can (this about the only soup that I can't/don't/won't make).
We use this brand often and it is always delicious.
This time there were small pieces of a black rubber-like stuff in it.
I called the company (toll free) and told them about it.
They requested that I send them a photo of the thingies (for want of better word) which I did.
They sent me an email this morning that there had been a fault in their production line, that they were sorry for my inconvenience, that it wouldn't have harmed me but it shouldn't have been in the soup and to apologize for this mistake they would be sending me a large box with a selection of their products.
Many years ago i was eating a tyson product and found slivers of plastic, took pics sent in and they said something had fallen in the chopper. They sent me of over 50 coupons for free products. Sometimes it pays to complain.
I had this happen several years ago with save-o-lot green beans..The company was very nice about it and sent me a coupon for a case of any of there vegetables..They did ask for date code and the next time I was in the store there wasn't any green beans in that brand in the store..i asked and the store manager said that they was all recalled.
I had this happen with tuna. While the can says "may contain bone" the bone my husband found was over an inch long, and it could easily have been my sons sandwiches this was in. I emailed them, and just received coupons for 2 free cans, and coupons for money off also. They also asked me to send the bone in the envelop they sent (which I am). I complained because the bone was SO big I don't know how it could have been overlooked, and it seriously could have choked my boys....
I bought several packages of Bar-S turkey bologna (on sale with coupons) and the meat fell apart when you tried to remove the string/rind to put it on a sandwich. The meat hadn't set up. I sent the info on the package and they sent me a ton of coupons.
I am getting ready to complain to Kroger. I had some frozen mixed veggies and luckily when I put the fork of veggies in my mouth, the LARGE rock that was in it hit my teeth. I just completed a TON of dental work. I know if I had bitten done on that rock I would have broken a tooth. This was no pebble. It was larger than a kernel of yellow corn, but it was similarly colored.
Last year, I opened a box of Quaker Oat meal and half the packets hadn't been sealed inside so the contents were loose in the box. Obviously, not gonna eat that and it made a huge mess. The sent me a bunch of coupons for freebies and an apology letter.
If there is a prob with a product that I buy I call the company. My youngest ds loves chicken noodle soup. I bought campbells it was on sale for 50 cents a can. His soup had a bone in it. and they sent me 10.00 worth of coupons. I got 20 cans of soup for free. Was very happy about that. TC
