Default I HAVE to get back on the wagon!!

I say this time and time again. And here I am AGAIN off the wagon and suffering daily! I KNOW I have to get back to couponing...couponing like I used to!! I don't knbow what happened to me....I went from being in a magazine to not using a coupon except MAYBE 1 a trip if that!
I talked to DH and told him now that I have "my area" I am going to do this. $4.00 a week for the papers and I have also "asked" for coupons on craigslist and our local marketplace boards. My mom gets and saves them for me now so thats a lil help.
I am gettin out ALL my old articles and everything too....I am gonna DO THIS!!!
Any and/or suggestions to get going again is welcome!

Are you sure you have to get back to couponing? Maybe there is a reason you fell off the wagon. If you find other ways to save for awhile it may be easier to ease back into couponing again rather than trying to force yourself back into it.

Personally, I don't coupon. As in, I don't purchase the paper intentionally for coupons. My mom and I exchange those Valu-Ads things that come free to us and I get a weekly free insert thing every Wednesday that I take the coupons from.

It just doesn't sound like its something you really enjoy doing, which will just lead you to fall off the wagon again if you aren't ready for it yet.

KRBS makes a good point. Maybe there are other ways you could focus your efforts that will be easier to stick with.

That being said, I'm in the same boat as you. I want to get back to couponing. I saved so much money with coupons, yet, I let life take over and stopped clipping. We cancelled our paper subscription last year, because coupons were the only reason I subscribed, and I felt like it wasn't good for the earth. However, my father-in-law and a few women I work with give me their coupons, and I was actually just throwing them out for the past few months. So, I'm planning on being more vigilant, particularly because I'll be on maternity leave for a few months and we'll lose my income.

I don't use a lot of coupons although I would like to use more I am a stay at home mom with one whole kiddo left and she is 15 lol. I should have the time to do my "job". Run this house and its finances to MY satisfaction.

I got a great handle on the budget, the house cleaning, and the meal planning so why not ad some better couponing??

I just printed up some yesterday and plan to shop tomorrow so I guess I will start right off in a new year!

I actually do enjoy it!! More than most anything I have ever done. Just seemed like the time was unavailable...the space wasn't there. I feel like I am ready again

I will also continue to be frugal in other ways too!

I've been getting into couponing more lately...but, we don't get the paper, either - wouldn't be worth the cost of the paper (nor the waste of the paper it's printed on!).

I've been printing coupons from places like coupons.com, target, etc. and it's really made a dent because I print only the products we WANT to buy. We're big on canned soups for busy nights and there are some great Campbell's coupons out there! And I get coupons for my facewash, too. Okay, now I'm just getting all jazzed up about coupons...hahaha...

Good luck! You can do it!

During the holidays and in January is when I use the most coupons. Most of the food I buy does not require coupons. I do like stocking up on HBA in January though.

I wish I could coupon more! This town only has a weekly newspaper (comes out on wednesdays - apparently there's not much to write about the other 6 days of the week lol) not a daily paper and there's no coupons When I see the coupon queens on youtube etc, I admit I feel jealous haha I love coupons but they seem so rare out here in the boondocks. When I do come across them, I use them and everyone (family.friends) knows that if they come across any coupons they dont want, i'd gladly accept them

As for falling off the wagon, sometimes taking a break from things we enjoy is a good thing. We all need to do things in moderation and having a 'breather' is perfectly normal and healthy. We rejuvenate our minds, spirits and bodies and can come back better than ever Nothing wrong with 'falling off the wagon' from time to time - we all do that in various areas of our lives - what's important is remembering to dust ourselves off after we jumped off that wagon and hop back on - or if we decide its a wagon we no longer want to be riding - find a different wagon to hop on Just have fun with it

I go through stages of couponing. I do a great coupon sweep maybe every 3 to 5 months. Stock up on the items i need won't do it again for awhile. Some of the items i buy never have coupons.

Definately will take a while to develop a habit. Next week I will not be going grocery shopping. Just buying some bananas. Anyway, I still want to look at the circular for the grocery store to see what bargains I can get even though I am NOT going to the grocery store.

I have never clipped coupons because I don't buy brand names or prepackaged so I can't offer any advice there... but.....

WELCOME BACK!!! and you'll get into the swing of things soon enough. No need to knock yourself for forgetting the coupons - you'll figure out a way to remember them.
One way I read about is to put your shopping list on a recycled envelop and put your coupons in the envelop. voila.
