I never keep resolutions so I try to stay away from setting them.
I do have a couple of goals.
I want to be a better mom to my son. I work long hours so unfortunately he doesn't get the "best" of me. He gets the tired and cranky me.
I want to fully fund my 8 mo EF. This WILL be complete by end of 2011, hopefully by summer but trying to be realistic.
--take care of myself mentally and physically.
--- be more kind to others and not be so selfish.Judy

I participate in a goal site (43things.com) and listed my resolutions there. The community has been great for me, that is, I've found friends, supportive people who'll cheer on my successes and commiserate with me about my failures. Since my family support is nonexistent, and always has been, finding a group of people who're willing to participate in my life in general has been a big help, FV has too, but I tend to do most of my not money related goals/posts on 43t.
I have 9 resolutions this year:
To finish the 3 books I currently have about 1/2 done is the major one; work on the second anthology (if it sells) is another.
Two are related to making our house into a home, two others are related to emotional growth.
The last three are to grow more of our food, get rid of a storage unit, and pay off a credit card.

Wow - some great resolutions here - help me think of things I need to do also. My number one, though, is to lose weight. I put on about 25 lbs in the past few years, doing unsuccessful fertility treatments and eating as a stress reliever. Now on an adoption waiting list and things are going well, need to get back to my exercise routine. I've never been heavy, so this has been an awful experience feeling like I'm not myself. I'm focusing not only on the weight loss, but all of the other benefits of exercising - having more energy, sleeping better, better skin, etc.
Goals:
Lose 25 lbs (exercise at least 3 times/wk/eat healthy)
Spend less
Save more $ in ES
Frugal challenge
Do three things daily
One new recipe a week
Prep for zombie apocalypse

I have stopped making New Years resolutions. But one thing I started doing last year was being more optimistic and just plain happier. It is definately not an easy thing to do but I decided I am getting older and life can be to short and there just is a lot to see, learn and do that can make you happy. It also seems to irk unhappy people which is a plus. lol

I LOVE the idea of a weekly budget! We might have to try that!

I love this quote that was in Momto5RN's signature:
“Fear less, hope more; Eat less, chew more; Whine less, breathe more; Talk less, say more; Love more, and all good things will be yours”
I don't know about "all good things" coming, but I like the ideas.
As for resolutions -- I love to make them. I make a bunch every morning when I wake up, especially on Mondays.
) I fill pages of notebooks full around this time of year. I enjoy reading them and even google search for other peoples. I think they're encouraging.
I resolve to hang out around here ~~ the posts on F.V. are bound to keep me on steady tracks towards better living.
I resolve to say yes more. "Yes", let's meet for ___. "Yes", I'll help you with that. "Yes", I could use some help myself. "Yes", I will reach out and be part of your lives.
I resolve to journal more (and blog). And to drag out the colored pencils, paints and crayons for my paper journal.
I resolve to go to movies. In a real movie theater. ~~ at least once a month.
