    Default Resolutions

Anyone make a resolution this year?

My resolution is to lose physical and financial weight...no more excuses!
I believe the financial weight loss will be most benificial to my health...The stress and anxiety I get over $$ is pathetic...
Although,I did make a few some great strides this year...I put my mortgage on a weekly payment...This helps 2 fold for me...1)it's out of the bank the same day I get paid so there's no chance to use it...2)my house will be paid off a few years early...I think around 7 years early....The reason I did this earlier this year was because I was facing my 2nd loan modification in 2 years...(we've only owned for 4 years!)
My next step is to catch up on my 3 monthly bills...I'm in the process of that now...
After that I've written out a weekly budget...I cant save $$ so I pay weekly...
I am also gonna start putting $$ in an envelope every week to start an EF...I'm gonna try to keep this envelope but if I find I'm dipping into it I'll give it to my SIL...
    I'm done being stressed...

    So...what's your resolution?

continue to work on paying down debt
make a commitment to making sure i put myself and my health before some other stuff
would like to get in a family vacation for a few days to beach or busch gardens - butthat may have to wait until i see what happens with tax time - if we owe that will probably not happen.

hopefully lose some wt - maybe 15 lbs would be good .

I don't make resolutions but I do set personal goals all through the year. I think giving myself a whole year for a resolution makes it too easy to put it off and then not get done. Now making a goal for say this month or by the end of March works so much better for me. They are really the same thing but I give myself a shorter time frame to keep the motivation going.

I have never made a resolution.... Years of seeing people get truly depressed when they fail was enough for me to not do them....

I did make five this year, and I put them in my blog. They are:

    1. I will accomplish, each day, more things that make me proud, in thought and deed, than things that do not.

    2. I will maintain my physical, mental, and emotional health, and I will do what I can to improve all three.

    3. I will make more opportunities to demonstrate to my family that they are an important part of my life.

    4. I will embrace order in my home and my workplace.

    5. I will maintain my finances with my ultimate goal in mind: to retire in ten years without concern about whether I will be able to afford it.

Not a resolution but rather a lifestyle or mentality change: be more positive and help those that truly need it, not those that 'say' they want it.

Just try to be happier & healthier both mentally and physically.

    Boy........I do agree with that!!

I don't make 'resolutions'......they sound so absolute and I have learned that 'life' can get in the way......

I make suggestions (to self) and incremental goals.....and all made with "some" flexibility allowed.

I didn't really set any resolutions, moreso a continuation of personal goals I had already set:

    * Continue to loose the cm. I have lost 10cm off my tummy since the start of September and want to loose another 10cm.
    * Get on top of my personal debt.
    * Get through the next 2.5 semesters of uni.

What I achieve this year will set me up for the following year and so on into my now 5 year plan.

mine are goals too- i change them monthly when i need to but they are really just basic plans in reality - of what i hoep to acheieve - i dont get getting depressed if you dont make them by the end of the year if thats happening they are possibly setting goals/ resolutions they cant or arent ready to try to obtain .

I don't make resolutions because I find I tend not to keep them. I do much better at having an ongoing list of goals that I reevaluate and update as needed. The Twenty Wishes challenge last year is an example....I had a list of 20 things I wanted to do and I accomplished several but not all of them. And even though I didn't accomplish all of them I feel like I was very successful in reaching some of my goals last year and am looking forward to reaching more of them this year.

This is what I was going to say. I join a whole bunch of challenges here at FV. Set a few personal things I want to work on but if I fail.. I fail. There is no success without failure.
