Mine was my first date with my (now) DW. She doesn't consider it a real date, but I do.
We'd gotten to know each other through a hiking club. She didn't have a car, and, since I lived not far from her place, I'd give her rides to the club meetings.
She wanted to go to an outdoor evening concert by a flamenco guitarist that was being held in a downtown park. It wasn't a spectacularly unsafe city, but still, a woman would be prudent to be careful walking alone downtown at night. So, she asked me if I would be interested in going with her as an escort. Naturally, I agreed.
I always used to get tongue-tied on dates before, wondering what I was "supposed" to say or do. This time, I resolved to just be myself and if she didn't like me, too bad. At the intermission, we got to talking about all kinds of deep stuff - our families, being vegetarian/vegan, animal rights, etc., and found that we were in sync on most of them. It was magical.
A couple of years later, we saw the same guitarist at a folk festival and told him the story about how his concert brought us together.

Mine was with Greebo. We closed the restaurant, we closed the local bar, we went to IHOP and closed them at 3am, we walked the neighborhood and chatted (with some kissing) in the back seat of his car till 7am.
He still hadn't gotten my last name or my home phone.
and he did said he liked a woman of mystery so I jumped out of the car and headed home so I could make it to work on time.
He wasn't able to contact me till I got home from work.
It was the start of something wonderous.

Mine was with DH. It wasn't actually a date. He was a nervous wreck, I found out later, but I wasn't. I actually knew him from college from 10 years ago. He, his ex wife and I had actually all worked together at one time. That night, I was just coming to "hang out" with him and maybe get a drink, because we had both been through horrible marriages/divorces. He was just an old buddy. I wasn't envisioning ANYTHING happening at all and I wasn't attracted to him in that way in the slightest - until I saw him.
It knocked the wind out of me, and apparently out of him, too. After getting lost getting to his house, VERY early in the morning, I finally got there. He hopped in my car so we could go get some food and neither one of us could even stand to look at each other. The only thing open was Village Inn. We had so much fun talking but it was so painful at first because we still couldn't look at each other! It was so sweet. Then, since nothing was open and home was 2 hours away, we went to his house and watched one of his DVD's of a band we both really liked. It was just like junior high - first our arms had to eventually touch, then eventually there was hand holding... we were both so nervous. Finally, we stayed up almost all day kissing and talking. When we couldn't keep our eyes open anymore, he gave me his bed and he slept on his couch. It was in the same room, REALLY big bedroom because it was a townhouse. When we woke up it was already dark so we went to hear some live music. That was the most fun. We had so much fun and so much in common and everything was just so easy. That was nearly 4 years ago. I could only come to see him on weekends.
Legally, we're married, but we're still saving for our "wedding". We had a JP marriage because he's already got two children. We are not "phone people", but for 6 months, we did nothing but talk on the phone. Until he finally relocated to be with me. After a year-ish we moved here to be close to the kids; they are wonderful.
I still tease him relentlessly, because back in college, he asked for my number, but he met his ex so he never called me and we never dated. But I knew him first! And now we have a baby. Sometimes I think about all that, and am really amazed.

If you could kick in the pants the person responsible for your problems, you wouldn't be able to sit for a month.
Did you know that a 4 year student paying $20,000/year who finances their education graduates with over $103,000 in debt to start? But a student who works and pays cash and takes 6 years to graduate ends with $6,300 in their pocket! So much for "getting a head start by financing!"

Two of the best dates ever would have to be the first and second time I met my BF. We actually met online and he lived 130 miles away from me. He drove down to see me on a friday summer night and arived at my house at about 10pm. We drove to Ocean City, NJ (which was only a couples miles from my house) and walked the boardwalk for a couple hours. We ended up on the beach sitting together and enjoying the breeze and the moon. We were eventualy kicked off the beach because the cops said it was closed at 12am. We left and went to Denny's and ate. We left there and visited a graveyard. I know that sounds weird but I had told him it was haunted and creepy and I thought it would be fun. After that we drove into Atlantic City to check out the boardwalk and casinos. We decided to try sitting on the AC beach and sat until the sun came up on an overturned lifeguard stand. It was an amazing night. THe following week i drove to his house and we went to NYC where i had my first visit to the empire state building and where we first held hands because i pulled him back from crossing a street in front of a cab. That too was an all nighter of talking and laughing. At 6:30am he finally gave me our first kiss then asked me out. I love him so much.
