I tried growing one of those last year, with no luck. I've always wanted to grow one, though, so maybe I'll try again.

Ordered seeds.
I've grown them before (over a decade ago) and had lots of luffas of different sizes. If I get a good harvest... I'll be making soaps to go with them for Holiday gifts.

luffahs are fun to grow, but I never used them as dish cloths. I chopped them into hunks and added soap to them...colored glycerine soaps. I used them for bath, oh, i suppose i have used them for some dishes. They're pretty effective in mugs and drinking glasses.
I think if you FV Search "luffa" or maybe "luffah" You'll find some posts by Durgan...about the growing, harvesting, and use thereof.Last edited by Missy; 01-17-2011 at 10:52 AM.
