Default I'm doing okay without my microwave

We needed the outlet for something else and it's been disconnected for days. I suddenly realized how little I use it, primarily for making instant coffee.

When it breaks down, I don't think I'll be replacing it. I could use the extra space and I won't have to buy another one.

I hear you! I put mine in the garage a couple weeks ago and plan on using it to nuke kitchen sponges and dirt/soil (haven't tried that yet). The microwave was in a 2 foot deep appliance garage--now I have a bunch of storage room. We actually did use ours quite a bit, but I convinced my husband we should not use it for reheating food. I had to get a little pot so we can reheat small servings and it's working out just fine.

I haven't had a microwave since 2008 and I really don't miss it! It helps that I have an electric tea kettle (hot pot) to have instantly boiling water. In daydreaming about my ideal kitchen (someday!!) I don't usually imagine it with a microwave.

Was there a specific reason for this........or "just because"???

Can't live without the microwave here, especially in the summer time. I do cook in it.

There are some opinions that is has a detrimental effect on foods. I'm sure there are positions on both sides, but I don't want to take the chance of reducing the level of nutrition in my foods (especially since I am recovering from some issues from malabsorption).

Oh, I can't even imagine my life without a microwave anymore. I'm glad you're doing so well without one though.
