Most of mine are automatic drafts - electric, gas, water, mortgage, health insurance, car insurance, Directv.
Some, I initiate on the website - Discover, phone bill.
Anything else, I use my bank's online banking site.
I have never had any problems.
I suspect that a box of 200 checks would last me 10 years!Jean

what ever i can do online i do online and have for years - have never had a acct hacked into etc - you just have to be careful .
most hacking etc comes from people responding to spam emails sent out by people who got your email addy and people respond like its reak.
i use a seperate email addy just for bill paying .
i dont trust the USPS sometimes - i have had paymenst get lost
heck when i ebayed i had smaller packages go MIA at least once every 30- 60 days - fell behind a machine or something i am sure .
nope- i pay online and immediately have my reciept its paid no worries if the ck got there*~Debbi~*

Yes & love not writing those checks , paying postage & wondering if my payment was received on time if at all. When I pay from home I get confirmation and peace of mind. Some are auto pay from my Discover Card(payed in full monthly) or checking acct, others I go to the site & initiate payment from checking. My tip for you is not to wait the last day to make payment. Depending on time of day/day of week and other factors it may not get credited right away. I also have one business that sometimes has the bill pay not usable for a certain period of time due to site maintenance so I keep an eye on that & know ahead of time.

Yes, I've been doing all of my banking online since 1998. I grew up in a very small town of around 400, so I knew my bankers on a personal level, and they have always treated me very well. In 98, I got a job that required me to travel around a lot, so rather than switching banks, I went with their free online service.
I have since moved completely rather than just travel around a lot, but I still keep my account back in my hometown as my primary account. The nearest branch is over 300 km away, so online is really my only option if I wanted to stay with them. I've never had a problem, and I still call and talk to my account managers about suggestions for better plans, rates, etc.
Just this past month, my parents have finally started online banking as well, and they can't believe they didn't make the switch earlier. They love how easy and convenient it is.

I have been like you, not interested in paying bills online, but I have recently changed that in an effort to simplify things. I really prefer to put things on a monthly credit card charge, but some companies won't do this. I pay my power company bill online once monthly. We have a mandatory monthly garbage fee, but I have found that if I pay it yearly, it is reduced in cost. I am embarrassed to admit that in the past year or so I had allowed time to slip up on me and had mailed some checks late! Making these changes will help me avoid that.
I have had difficulty banking online and have recently gotten the bank to reset things since I was not able to get in the last time I tried. I put as many of my elderly mother's bills on an automated basis also.

I've been paying my bills online for several years. It's a free service thru my bank. It's so convenient and I save on postage.

I don't. I still send checks through the mail. We only have one computer and if it goes wonky, I wouldn't want to pay bills online at the computers at the library.

I've done all of my bill paying online for years. I don't go to the bank at all any more, while the next check in my book is #43. I've had that checkbook for 6 years.
I don't use my bank's billpay, though. Some bills I have set up to pay automatically on my credit card. Others, I go directly to the website to pay, after verifying the amounts.
I have not had any problems with people accessing my account, wrong amounts being deducted, or fraudulent charges.
