I am wondering...
A. When was it decided that Sheen has a mental illness and is self medicating.
B. Why isn't it okay to talk about him in public? He sure isn't worrying about it. The guy won't SHUT UP.
C. I still stand by what I said earlier. Why can't loud guy talk about what he wants to talk about?
If people with mental illness are offended by talk of mental illness then how will we ever get to the point where we can accept mental illness in society?
I have a physical disabilty of hearing impairment and once had someone tell me I was offensive to people with hearing loss because I called it an impairment.
Hey, ears don't work. They are impaired. That doesn't belittle me nor does it label me or put me in a box.
I wish people would stop worrying so much about labels whatever they are labeling and just be a bit more accepting that the world is full of all kinds of people.
Yep store guy is uninformed and loud but he is what he is.The math never lies, budget in INK!

Well, for one, this guy wasn't "talking about" mental illness. He was sermonizing on one person's shortcomings and his own beliefs about mental illness and drug use.
I really don't understand why everyone is defending this guys loud, obnoxious conversation in public. Yeah, OP shouldn't have butted in, but really, do all of you think it's okay to do things like that in public? There's a difference between something being technically allowed and something being right.
And all of your comparisons are bad.
It's not acceptable to make fun of deaf people when they talk funny. We don't make fun of cancer patients when they lose their hair. It's not acceptable to make fun of mentally handicapped or to use the word 'retarded.'
It's okay to trash people who are mentally ill though, and I'm pretty sure it will always be okay.
Like I said, I don't give a hoot what anyone thinks about mental illness or anything else for that matter. I don't think it's too much to ask that they don't noisily spout off their ill formed opinions in public?~Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.~

...my only words to this obnoxious by-stander would have been "If I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong".
