Default What common words do you dislike?

    Hi All...

I was just wondering if there are any words that make you "cringe".

Mine would be "Stupid", "Hate", and "Fat".

They were never really used a lot around me in my "young" years, so I have no idea why they bother me so much.

What would your disliked "words" be?

    Thanks...

My husband hates that word too, haha.

3 a : weak in intellect : foolish b : exhibiting or indicative of a lack of common sense or sound judgment <a very silly mistake> c : trifling, frivolous
    4: being stunned or dazed <scared silly> <knocked me

A word that makes me cringe is "regurgitate". EWWWWW

I don't care for vulgar words of any kind or derogatory words that are mocking or making fun of others and that includes racial slurs.

Crazy, as I think it's misued a lot, "solution" in computer stuff, I'm purely sick of it, and "user-friendly" which usually means that they've dumbed down the manual so that it tells you how to plug in a machine and set it up, and not a single piece of other, maybe needed, information.

    Anxious

It has two definitions that seem almost opposites to me

    anxious(p)
    1) eagerly desirous; "anxious to see the new show at the museum"; "dying to hear who won"

2)causing or fraught with or showing anxiety; "spent an anxious night waiting for the test results"; "cast anxious glances behind her"; "those nervous moments before takeoff"; "an unquiet mind"

So when some one asked are you anxious? you have to ask what definition looking forward to or filled with worry/anxiety.

    very confusing word.

We don't really use stupid or hate around here. It's not really a policy, but usually those words are attached to either angry or whiney sentences. The word retarded doesn't make me cringe, but I don't say it because it bothers other people. (I'll admit I've slipped before though.)

There's a lot of things that people post on the internet that irritate me, one of them being "Wait for it... wait for it..." It doesn't even make any sense.
