Default CHEAP Finger Foods for a Wine tasting?

I am headed to a wine stasting tomorrow and it has the potential to be a very cheap date for my husband and myself. My mother gave me my bottle of wine to share. Now all I need is a cheap finger food to share as well.
    Anybody have any good ideas?

I have to add my husband is no help in the idea area. His brilliant plan is to either A)bring Saltine Crackers and Spray Cheese or B)play the funny card and bring a bottle of Mad Dog 20 20 and a box of Cheez Its.

We are debt free besides our house payment!!!

frozen spinach (chopped kind) + block of low fat cream cheese + garlic salt/powder = spinach dip.

cook spinach, mix in softened cream cheese and garlic. For bonus points bake with some parmesean on top for a few min. serve with chips or crackers or pita.

It depends on the type of wine. I went on a wine crawl recently (it included 7 winery's). It was loads of fun. They served cheez it's, dark chocolate chips, and a meat and cheese platter with crackers for their pairings.

    Really good olives.

Cheese ball with small toast chips. You could make a cheese ball containing raisins and some honey. The salty and sweet sometimes go well with wine.

You could make pizza dough and make bread sticks with the dough. Some could have sea salt on them. Some maybe brushed with a little garlic and olive oil. Would definately be cheap but a lot of fun to eat.

You could also make foccacia bread. For a topping you could use some carmalized oinions and garlic. Then cut in bit size squares.

    Have a good time!

I would say cheese, but some kinds go better with certain wines than others and if you don't know it could be the wrong match. You can look up your bottle and see if there are suggestions for it.

Olives are a great idea. Nuts of any kind, plain or flavored. Parmesan toasts (slice a baguette thinly, sprinkle parmesan and brown under the broiler. Popcorn, plain or flavored with herbs. White bean dip with crackers.

A simple good quality cracker or pretzel is good as a between-varieties palate cleanser.

No suggestions outside what was already given. But have fun at the wine tasting!

    Make 'gourmet' cheese crackers.

Make your regular pie dough. Roll out. Sprinkle on a little of your favorite cheese (I use cheddar). Fold in half. Roll again. Repeat until you think you have enough cheese in there. Cut into shapes, circles or cut into squares. Place all over a cookie sheet and bake. You can add salt to the tops if you like.

I got this recipe from a colonial cookbook (read 1700s-ish).
