The Library is da bomb!
Ok just wanted to say I went to the library today to pick up books that I got through inteer library loan. Then got two movies for me (and one was kept in a room not open to the public so I felt exclusive when the aide went and got it for me
) Plus walked away with two movies for the kiddos and the information on how to dowload/check out books for my ereader and audio books for my dh IPOD. I am now actually so excited I cant decide what to do first. Watch the moves or read the books? Anyone else heart thier local library?

When I was able to get to the library easily I really enjoyed going their to get some peace and quiet. Also enjoyed taking out movies.
There is something about being able to see all the books lined up and knowing that you can open a book up on just about anything you can think of that is still exciting.

As a librarian it makes me smile to see people take advantage of all the library has to offer, including inter-library loan. So many people do not know about or understand how it works. Unfortunately, many libraries have to make due on budgets that have not increased in years (our acquisitions budget has not changed since 1996!!!). Inter-library loan allows libraries to provide more material to their patrons without having to purchase tons of items that may only be checked out a few times.

The library brings up so many wonderful childhood memories for me. (Yes, I was a geek.) I used to beg my mother to let me walk to the library near my highschool, so I could spend a couple of hours there before my father got off work and could come by and pick me up. (Otherwise, I rode the bus home.) Later, when I had my own car, I would also go to a small used bookstore in town and became kind of a mascot for it.

~I want to love the library but I get so annoyed waiting for the books I want to read.
For instance, I got on the waiting list for President Bush's book the week it came out(early November according to Amazon)and I still haven't gotten my turn. There are just 5 copies for 2 counties, in NJ!
I'm also on the waiting list to read All New Square Foot Gardening but there are just two copies of that so I'll read it in 2014 I suppose. :/
Most of the time I feel our libraries just exist to give people a place to use computers. I liked it better when it was about books.~~Constance

I love our library. It's so easy to get online, put holds on the books you want and just walk in and pick them up. You can browse their entire library from home. There's a pretty long wait for new things but I usually don't try to get the newer books so it doesn't bother me.

I'd be so broke if there were no libraries.

Libraries are wonderful!!!
When I moved to Seattle from California I was delighted to find that the library system had longer hours and more reading materials than I was used to. I love being able to reserve books online then just go in and pick them up when ready.

We use our library and the library in the next city over ( library network rocks) and it is one my very favorite places in the world. I also try to donate my already read books, magazines and movies we won't watch anymore (stuff the kids have outgrown mostly on a regular basis . Kind of a Thank You I guess. = )

My grandma was a librarian, so I've had the love since I was a kid. We use our library constantly. The librarians (and it's a huge library) all know us and know what kinds of books and movies my kids like. It's great.
Now that I'm on maternity leave, I think I'll be taking my 5 year old to storytime on Wednesday mornings. He loves stories! My Blog: http://amysreallife.wordpress.com

My gardening book came in on Wednesday. Yay for that! I'm going to sign up for the other book again. Maybe my entry got lost or wasn't entered in the first place. ~
