Default it was a sad, sad day when Krispy Kreme donuts...

it was a sad, sad day when Krispy Kreme donuts closed in houston.

well, my walmart has outdone itself. (houston - fry road at I-10) my walmart has made a close approximation of the krispy kreme donut, even keeping them hot. OMG they are so good. i have restrain myself.

    very yeasty. yum.

i am going to freeze this dozen individually in baggies s i don't eat the whole dozen today.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.

They call those 'fat pills' down on my husband's boat.

Enjoy your donuts. We don't have any good donut shops around here so I"m kinda jealous.

I've never had a Krispy Kreme donut though there is one not very far from where I live. I am kind of afraid to try one for fear I'll want to buy one everyday!

They're glorious. They're like little clouds of fat and sugar, a puffy little piece of heaven that melts into gooey ecstacy right inside your mouth. I'd go into further detail, but there might be children present.

They are wonderfull indeed! The only thing is you eat too many and then you feel like crap. They go down really easy though.

Have any of you tried thier Banana Cream Pie donut. Oh my it is so good.

Like the other poster...........I have yet to have a Krispy Creme.

Not a big donut eater...........and maybe that is a good thing cause I make up for it in other areas!!

That is an accomplishmentindeed because I've never had a doughnut that was like the original Krispy Kremes! It is amazing that something so calorie-laden can seem so light and just melt away in your mouth. It's best for me never to bring them in the house because I can't leave them alone. They are so perishable, moreso than baklava, but there is always the toaster oven and microwave.

Where I live is the home of Krispy Kreme. The original one is down the road from me. They are pure heaven. I pretty much stay away from them but once in a while I'll see the HOT sign on and can't resist. (maybe twice a year).
