Are prices Canadian prices? Although the percent increase could be the same I suppose. what is the KG /pound conversion?

I'm buying children quarters on sale this week for 39 cents a pound.

And normally pay $5 something for 3 pounds of skinless boneless chicken breasts

That just made me choke on my coffee! LOL Thank you for the laugh, though I know the typo was not intentional.

I read that article too.My husband is always warning me about what he has heard about the future prices,I don't fall for it anymore.I used to buy my flour usually $3.99 for 10kg on sale, every fall,so I would stock up.Then one year it skyrocketed to $11.99 same size.It stayed there for a while and then settled in at $7.99.Now a month ago I got it on sale for $3.49,so stocked up again.I have enough for the next year and you know, that cycle will repeat itself as it always does.Sure some prices will climb, but someone will always put on a killer sale,so guess who cashes in.When I do stock up I go for at least a year's worth,if they limit,I keep going back.

LOL! I laughed, too. I feed my dogs chicken quarters and had just served them breakfast when I read that. Pretty funny. At my work (copyeditor for publishing company), I give out a "Typo of the Day" award for the best typo I see. This one would definitely qualify.

oh my! that is a big mistake.

I do remember when my first was a newborn, we took the birth and hospital bill and divided by the weight he was to get his price per pound.

It made for really funny jokes when people, especially older ladies, at the grocery store would ask/joke "Now how much was that gem and what aisle did you find him on?" this actually happen quite often.

I would answer "$6,154 per pound but I had a coupon so we got him for $153 a pound!"

$6,154 actual bills per pound (he was a preemie)
$153 price per pound after insurance or what we actual had to pay.

Too funny! Poor children! The article was interesting. DH and I have been looking at ways to cut costs. Today we were looking at grain mills.

Stuff like this makes me even more determined to get my greenhouse and cold frames built and try harder to grow a garden that actually produces.

I went to Costco last night and had to get milk so far it is the cheapest I have found in the city at 4.41. My mental health worker told me on Tuesday though that starting today the 1st of April prices are supposed to jump again. What this all has done for me is made me more determined to start making pretty much everything from scratch because I think for most things it will be cheaper.
