That is so scary - hope they make it out with minimal if any injuries.

It was a kid!
Puts fear in this Mama's heart! He's up walking around. I don't know how, must have a whole parcel of angels that watch over him. He had to be flying, the car is totaled. The pole is split, and leaning dangerously. If it does not come down and take the rest of the wires and electric with it I don't know why.

Are the police there? Did this wake you up or haven't you been to bed yet?

Police are out there, they are pretty vigilant on weekends. Lots of drinking and back country roads. Very narrow, winding, blind curves. We have a few accidents a month on our road, several deaths a year.
Kid looks shook up, and rightly so. He never should have walked away from this. Very scary. My guess is no drinking, the cops are not going through the normal touch your nose routine.
I was awake, heard him hit the pole.

Ugh! I hope everything stays safe.
Reminds me of when I was a child some teen was drag racing down our alley and took out our cement block fence.
Hope a lesson was learned.

Oh no, that is very scary! Was it a metal one, or a wood one? Metal can be hit and come down pretty easily (you would be surprised) and still be put back up usually :eekdance
Oh, it was wood. He was LUCKY.

Wow, very scarey. Like you said, angels were watching over him. Glad no one was hurt.

Glad he seems to be not hurt. Is electric back on?

Yep, a wood utility pole. At this moment they are replacing it. I can't believe it did not come down overnight. If I could have taken a picture to show you guys the pole I would have.
Thank God the kid's okay! And yes, I hope it is a lesson learned. This road has a speed limit for a reason, they were not just trying to ruin everybody's fun.
The very idea of hitting a cement fence is horrifying. I can't imagine how bad that turned out.
He so had angels surrounding him, there was just no way that young man should have walked away from that accident in one piece, honestly after seeing the car and the pole it's hard to believe that he's alive. Now he's got to worry about paying for the pole and all the men double time on Sunday to replace it. His insurance certainly will not cover the entire cost. A very expensive lesson to learn.
In the blink of an eye is right! Drive safely folks.

Better an expensive lesson than the possible alternative.
