Default If you woke up tomorrow...

And were a mutli millionaire what would you do with the money?

I would put money away for DD to go to school.
I would go to school myself.
I would by a house not a big one but must have a nice kitchen, and a big enough back yard for a garden, and studio space for painting.
There is a few people who have helped out along the way that I would help out.
I would give some money to a few charities.
I would invest the rest so I would always have money.
And when I got the all clear to go ahead and get my drivers license I would take a driver course get it and buy a nice car.

I would retire and split my time between volunteering and travel. I would also buy a medium size condo. Have owned a house in the past and I really don't want all the work associated with a plot of land.

I'd buy up all the land and houses around my dad's and grandparent's houses and create the Smith Family Compound.

I would set myself up to be financially set for the rest of my life. Nothing very extravagant but to be able to live comfortably.

I would make sure to donate to certain organizations. Probably would get more involved with fundraising. Open a large studio.

Pay off my student loans. Buy homes for some of my family members. Buy a home for myself and my SO. Set aside money for the education of my SO's son, my niece, and my nephew. Have money for retirement.

I'd like to start an organization to benefit impoverished and isolated seniors and that's where I would want to work.

I would give some to my church and help my family and friends. But I would set up scholorship funds for nurses aides to become nurses...the difference in pay between a CNA and and LPN is about $10 an hour. That would be life changing for someone. CNA to RN is much much more than that even

I would buy a building to house the charity I run at my church and expand

I would also buy the campground near me and let special needs kids and thier families camp for free. (I am a home health nurse and lots of my clients are special needs children so they are close to my heart)

~pay of my oldest sons school loans
~pay off my house - add a bathroom to it and leave it for my older two to live in and find ~a newer house with a better layout and a built in pool for myself- dh and the younger 3.

~ establish college funds for my kids and future grandkids .
~retire and start a non profit to do volunteer work for the elderly like those who i run into with my work - who have chronic issues - cant leave the house alone - but need someone to check on them to prevent their medical issues to progress to where they need hospitalization ( which is what managed care was supposed to prevent but surely doesnt ).

put a way enough to get my son the rest of the way through college( paying what scholarship doesn't) and for his 4 years of medical school. and put in enough for our youngest son's college. Give a lot to God. Help people I know that is in need. My dh would retire so that he could devote all his time to God. He is a preacher and an elder at church and also teaches Sunday School. He is not able to do it full time. He doesn't take pay to preach at church. We have 4 that rotate and not of them take pay. We did just have 3 and now 4. Then we could do a lot of mission work. I want to do that someday. TC

    dreaming:

i would turn my 2 car garage into an air-conditioned, brightly lit, all purpose sewing/ hobby room.
i would fix up the "room full of abandoned sewing stuff and junk" as a guest bedroom.

i would rehabilitate my "far behind" retirement. i got a late start.

my lds style food storage needs replenshing.

    tithe, of course.

i would hire a professional gardener to fill my yard full of english style floppy flowers. we can have year round flowers in houston.

i would buy a fresh navy blue "sure fit" slipcover to alternate with the one i have.

i would build a storage shed in the backyard to put excess stuff.

    and i would buy this:BonnetTopChest.jpg
    and this:2DrBlanketChest.jpg

actually all of these dreams are within reach and i can do the gardening myself.
    11% gross to retirement
10% takehome to tithe and offerings
emergency fund maintained at 3000(works for me)
    credit card debt 7500
    mortgage free
freedom accounts/sinking funds that ebb and flow
    then live on the rest!

i am trying something new. LDS church advises savings or debt repayment should be the same as the tithe. 10% each.
