Do your pets have irritating habits?
Hi everyone........
On a lighter note, do your pets do things that really "tick" you off? I have 2 cats and 1 dog.
My oldest cat Cola (8 years old) loves to collect socks. She drags them around the house, and I can hear her when I am sleeping, because she makes "noises" while she is carrying them. (Look at me everyone, I saved the day...I caught a sock!!!) ...but, in her defense, one time it was a mouse, and one time it was a bat!!!
Shoe laces are not safe in my house. I do believe Cola has taught the kitten Zuzu, that shoe laces are not our friends. I do not know how they get in my closet. But, when I went to shovel 12" of snow in February and grabbed my boots from the closet, riiipppppppppppppppppppppp. My junk drawer was siding with the cats. It took me half an hour to come up with laces. (They seem to leave 1 thread intact after chewing, just to screw me around).
My dog (Tucker...1 year old Husky) likes to help me wash the kitchen floor every time he has a drink. (and no, the full sized table cloth under his bowl doesn't help...he holds a mouth full of water until he finds a dry spot to drop it on...........?)
What pet horror stories do you have to share?

The oldest cat Luna (13) does not believe that sleeping in on the weekend is an acceptable excuse for breakfast being late. She gets on my dresser, messes with my stuff including knocking off the breakables or chewing on the dried roses that I am attempting to keep until I get up and she starts at exactly 6:00am.
The youngest cat Squeaker (1.5) harrases our other cat that has cancer and can't let her alone. We keep disciplining her to leave the other cat alone but can't get it through to her that she needs to leave the other cat alone.
Of course there is nothing like waking up in the morning to a little gift that our one Tom cat left in our bed like this morning. If only he had killed the darn mouse first but he was so darn proud of bringing it to us. Years ago, I would have freaked but after numerous body bags and 1 am mouse hunts, it was nothing to fling a mouse out the door and go back to bed

My turtle smacks rocks on the side of his tank when he wants attention.
My dog is scares himself each time he breaks wind; he'll be sleeping in the chair and then toot and go flying out of the chair and run circles around the house before returning to his former snoozing position.

One of my cats meows at the top of his lungs at 6 in the morning, every morning on the dot! Well just because...aargh.
The other one loves to pounce on my son at seven in the morning to try to wake him up.

My fat Jack Russell, Frannie, likes to lick my leg or hand when she is going to sleep. She has to lick and lick and lick as she drifts off to sleep. It's a lot like a baby sucking a pacifier. It comforts her. I've gotten use to it, but DH will not let her do it.
The other four animals all have a few little quirks, but none as "in your face" or as consistent as Frannie's licking.DD (20)

My cat will obsessively lick a plastic bag. Its like the chinese water torture. There is not food on it,it's a texture thing.

One of our cats loves to sleep on the bed. Of course, he has to be leaning hard against whichever of us it is, sometimes DW, but usually me. My sleep patterns are very temperature-sensitive, and he is one hot cat, and quite large! I usually wake up to find that a very hot sack of potatoes is leaning against my back.
We tried keeping him out of the bedroom by closing the door, but that was much worse. He is very vocal, and would think nothing of howling all night long.

KeithBC, I feel your pain!! I have two cats who like to snuggle up with me in bed (whether or not *I'm* comfortable is irrelevant to them) and I gave up locking them out of the room because the constant howling outside my bedroom and scratching at the door was even harder to sleep through.
I supposed I'm flattering myself to think that they kick up the fuss because they miss me...it's probably just my bed they like. lol
Each of the cats also has a peculiar chewing tendency...Panther likes to chew on/rip up paper (so books/important papers have to be hidden away) while Boston prefers to chew on plastic (so the plastic sandwich bags I wash and reuse have to be supervised while drying).

My rat terrier, Daisy, attacks me whenever I go to answer the phone. She thinks it's her job! When I tell her 'no' she stops and looks very confused.

Persistent and intolerable cuteness.

My cat loves the sound of paper crinkling. I will occassionally put a brown paper bag for her play with. She starts making as much noise as possible and always looks like she is going to use it as a litterbox which always alarms me. But she is just having fun making noise.
