A quick reintroduction spurred by life's time monsters
Hello! Good Morning! I’ve been missing you all!
I’ve only been able to get on sporadically for what seems to be a really long time. We will be trudging along in our semi-normal life here with its routines and rhythm and then a time monster pops in for an extended stay. Mostly they’re surprise visits and the rhythm I thrive on becomes chaotic. Sometimes he’s actually been a welcome visitor and we’ve been happy to spend our time with him for a while, like with Promotion and Celebration. Sometimes he has been completely unwelcome and miserable, like when Sickness or Job Loss comes around. Over the last year or so we’ve had an abundance of these guys come to stay for a bit. When life is flowing smoothly I get to visit the village almost daily, even if it’s just while drinking a quick cup of coffee. Since we’ve had all these guests I’ve been popping in and out so randomly I thought I’d give all the new villagers a quick introduction.
In a nutshell-
I ‘m a 40 year old female who has been married for 17 years to a man I mostly think is wonderful but am pretty opposite of on some key things. A couple of those things are what will lead me on occasion to think he’s not so wonderful. Both of us are originally from Long Island but have been living in Ky now for 19ish years.
I have 2 boys currently 12 & 14 who are occasionally frustrating but mostly pretty amazing. The older of the 2 is more of a “doer” and the younger one is more of a “thinker”. (Like thinking about what I could say to get out of doing this.)
We have 3 dogs; a toy poodle, a cock-a-poo, and a border collie. This is actually pretty odd because both my husband and I are LARGE dog lovers and 2 out of 3 are not even close to medium but it somehow worked out this way.
I work full time and have always had frugal tendencies but am also always learning. DH on the other hand has always had and will have to some degree a hole in his pocket. Luckily, he is self- aware of this hole to some degree. Neither of us we’re ever really taught much about money itself and we’ve had fumbles as we’ve learned.
Currently, since the first of the year, we’ve only had my income as steady, effectively halving our income, so it’s been pretty interesting.
Here’s to hoping I have some sort of return to normalcy and can at least pop in a couple times a week for awhile.

I'm sort of new here, to post anyway; I used to just read, so I enjoyed knowing more about you. I am an avid dog lover, as well. One of my dogs is a poodle, too (standard size, 70 pounds), so if you like poodles and large dogs, you should get one of these guys.
I'm a bit opposite of my husband, too. He's the naturally frugal one; I'm the one still learning, which is why I hang out here so much. Enjoyed your bio. Welcome back.
Totally debt free since January 2011.

Welcome.I am fairly new here and I have one of your time monsters here right now.
As starting back to work is weather dependent, the snow that keeps hanging on has set my recall date back.I am usually back by now,so benefits have run out.
I can't get anything done outside, usually have all seeds started in the GH by now, but with having to heat it have held off on quite a few.
Now this weekend we were to haul firewood as we are out and still needing to heat with it,and the truck decides to break down.
So now the truck has just left on the back of a tow-truck to get fixed, lord knows what that will cost, and I have a dandy headache, due to all the worry and stress.
Even with having an emergency fund and being frugal with no debt,I just can't seem to tolerate these bumps in the road.

It's great to have you back!
How much we enjoy what we have is more important than how much we have. Life is full of people who have more than they know what to do with, but cannot be content. It is the capacity to enjoy life that brings contentment.---Unknown

So glad that you returned!! Love how you summed up your life for us!!
Travel light. The baggage of the past can only hold you back.
