Yesterday was a "Feel Good" Day
One of my co-workers, a man in his mid-thirties has had a sudden onset of symptoms. He was diagnosed as having arteriovenous malformation in his brain. It has caused paralysis on his right side, blindness in his right eye, loss of some brain function - all of this in two months. My heart is broken for him and his family -a wife and two young children. He hasn't been able to work for the last six weeks and as of yet, has not received any disability payments.
Our department at work decided to have a fundraising BBQ for him yesterday. We asked for a minimum donation of $5 per person. WE RAISED OVER $4000 FOR THIS VERY DESERVING FAMILY!!!! within 3 hours. People gave so generously.
Many of us were in tears when we counted the money made. This was with no large gifts from management - just ordinary people giving what they could.
It renews my faith in people. I hope everyone who gave is greatly blessed for their generosity.
Just wanted to share this beautiful story.
PS: My coworker will be undergoing surgery on his brain on April 20th - please remember him in your prayers. The prognosis is only a 50% survival rate.

Thank you for sharing - it reminds me that there are good people out there even though you more often hear about the bad ones.
What a wonderful initiative of your department. The story brought tears to my eyes.
Of course I will keep this man and his family in my prayers and please keep us updated.

What a wonderful thing to do for a co worker. I needed to read a nice story like that, thanks for sharing. God Bless his family.
I ran my life into a ditch big time and i am tired of struggling, i need a change and i need it now.
Trying to change past behaviors so they are not the indicator of future behavior.
That is why i am here...
